I love the food at this place. Unfortunately a lack of clear organization at the Morgan Hill store causes confusion about where to order. Multiple lines with people waiting or prepurchased food has completely fouled the ordering process. I do not have the time to wait for 10 minutes only to find I have to go somewhere else to order, have that not be clear, and have to wait behind people at yet another spot in a small store. People that walked in much later than I by that time.

Wish we had Erik's in Ventura County, or at least in Southern California. Had never heard of them before, and tried one near Kaiser Hospital in southern San Jose recently. Didn't know anything about them, or that it's a chain in the Bay Area - mostly in and around San Jose, then down toward Santa Cruz / Watsonville, etc.
When we walked in to order I, of course, noticed the old pot-bellied wood stove near the front door. Rustic décor that had been there a while was also evident. Felt a bit like a trip to Knott's Berry Farm.
We were ordering sandwiches to take to our cousins who were at the hospital to advocate for their dad. They hadn't had any decent food all day, so we offered to pick something up for them. They came right back with "Pilgrim's Progress, Dub Club, Chicken Pesto" as their order. Hmm, I thought. Interesting.
I ended up ordering the Dub Club for myself, leaving off the cheese. It's like a club sandwich on sourdough, plus avocado and sprouts, in addition to turkey and bacon. Very yummy!
The ordering process was speedy and friendly. The fulfillment didn't take very long. I have the sense the this location runs like a well-oiled machine. There are many tables to dine inside, but I think they do a lot of takeout, too.
Had a little bit of time to soak up the old-fashioned atmosphere with little sayings and cabin-style decorations from a bygone era.
Next time we're up that way, I would definitely want to try some of the other locations, as well.
Prices were reasonable for the quality. Sandwiches come with a tart dill pickle slice on the side. Worked for me!Helpful 6Thanks 3Love this 8Oh no 0 - Tara B.San Francisco Bay Area, CA067Dec 28, 2024
From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth and friendliness, setting the tone for a great meal. I decided to try the REO Speedwagon, while my husband opted for the pesto chicken, and both dishes were bursting with freshness and delivered to our table in no time. On a gloomy day like this, I couldn't resist a cup of their hearty beef stew--it was rich, comforting, and exactly what I needed. Overall, our visit to Erik's Deli was a delightful experience, and we'll definitely be back for more!

This review is for to go order only:
I was in the mood to eat a sandwich with some fresh vegetables and "Del Monte Special" did fit the bill. I liked that I could sub the cheese per my preference and add red bell peppers at no extra cost. The bread choices were also plenty. I have now tried this same sandwich on three different breads: 9 grain, ciabatta as well as sourdough. They all taste pretty good. All the fillings in the sandwich were fresh including the sprouts. All in all a solid place to grab a quick sandwich for lunch or snack.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Feb 23, 2023
Erik's DeliCate is one of my go to for sandwiches. This location has some cool decorations with the farm and barn theme. Live the wood burning stove they have.
The employees here are welcoming and helpful with taking your orders and making suggestions for what you can add to your meal.
Ordered the turkey club sandwich, it has turkey bacon sprouts tomatoes avocado and I added lettuce. It was fresh and delicious the bread was soft and yummy. Paired it with a bag of jalapeño chips and a coke. My eye was bigger than my stomach and also got a piece of carrot cake for dessert. The meal was delicious, satisfying and filling. I was a bit disappointed with the carrot cake as it was a bit dry.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Oct 28, 2023
Erik's Delicafe always hits the spot. The Pilgrim's Progress is always my go to. It's a beautiful sandwich. This location on Cottle always has good customer service.

I found a fly in my salad... ordered to pick up my salad was not given any fork to eat my salad walked to my car opened my salad up took about four bites in the same area and noticed a fly at the bottom of my salad on a piece of lettuce I paid nearly $20 for the salad so I will have to just consider the fly protein at this point

Felt like a sandwich so I made my way here on a Friday evening at 5pm. I was the only one there so my order was quickly taken. Decided on the Cali Clasico to-go, broccoli cheddar soup, and an after treat. Sandwich was very well made and ingredients were fresh. Bread was crispy and the artichoke pesto added such a flavorful flare. Will have to go back and try out the other sandwich options!

Tried this place while my sister got a haircut next door. Quiet atmosphere with outside seating and a homey aesthetic. My main concern was the lack of upkeep in cleaning the tables; I noticed that diners don't have an area to place their used plates or glasses but simply leave them on the table. During my dining experience of 15-20 minutes, none of the staff cleaned the littered tables, and processed orders as usual.
What I ordered was the sea dog with chips and a drink. The chip selection is great, and the glass cups are a plus. The sandwich itself was alright but not great. Stacked inside were cheese, strings of onion, tuna, and lots of avocado. The amount of avocado was too much for me, making the sandwich more like avocado toast rather than tuna. The avocado slices were overpowering in sheer quantity to the point that I had to remove them.
That's all for this review, and I wonder if other locations operate like this one.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1
