I deposited 2 payroll checks into my checking account which I just opened a few weeks ago of which they put a hold on the check causing my rent not being paid Ugh!!!

They offer a very low level of customer service and nickel & dime you for everything. For example, even though I have direct deposit, they still charge me a monthly fee for my checking account. They don't have tellers at their branches -- only a remote video back to the mothership. It's really not much of a credit union at all. You'd probably be better off with an Internet bank. If you use an ATM that's not in their network, you get charged a fee by both that ATM and the credit union. So, double fees for getting your own money out. They are all about making money and not about serving their customer base. Dreadful.

I also have a Love hate relationship with this Credit union. They have an excellent website and you can get a lot done there. But if you have a problem or it can't be done on their website. getting help with their customer service is a nightmare. They just seem to be phone operator's and have no clue how to help you. And forget going to one of their branches there is one person at the branch all transactions are handled via some kind zoom monitor. CRAZY
They do have some of the best CD rates around. because of all the issues I have had with them The bank manager gave me her cell phone number to call if I need anything done or changed !!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

If I could put no stars I would, they have been nothing but the worst when it comes to customer service. I had gap insurance for a car that was deemed a total. I still owed a few grand and got the loan refinanced for a couple grand for $245 a month, and it's been a couple of months now and they're still telling me I owe the full car payment amount after I signed a contract that it was only 245. They have told me multiple times that they were going to update the informative and they never do. They charge a convenience fee for paying my bill ?? I'm glad that car is gone because I would've hated to deal with them for years! Once I'm done paying the rest of the loan I'm glad I won't ever have to deal with them. DO NOT FINANCE WITH GTE they are extremely shady and have absolutely terrible customer service.

My Mortgage Company GTE Financial, has continuously and repeatedly struggled to pay my homeowners insurance premium timely from my escrow account. As you may be aware, many mortgages require escrow accounts from which taxes, PMI and insurance premiums are paid. The escrow account is funded from monthly mortgage payments and from direct payments. Year after year, GTE waits until the last minute to issue payment, with the consequence that on a yearly basis, I receive notices of cancellation from my insurance company and am forced to additional steps to prevent cancellation of my policy. This year, my insurance premium went up, I made sure GTE had the updated quote roughly a month before its due date, I also made multiple direct payments to my escrow account to make sure it was properly funded. Instead of issuing payment, GTE has bizarrely called me and asked if the monies paid directly to my escrow account were actually intended for my escrow account (one could ask : What else could funds deposited directly into escrow account actually be for? When I pay my cellphone bill, my carrier doesn't call ask if I money I paid them was intended for some other purpose) I have received another notice of cancellation of my insurance, if GTE were pay the premium today, it is actually doubtful that it would reach my carrier timely if only sent via regular mail. GTE are required to pay it timely based on federal and state law.

I have a love - hate relationship with my credit union, GTE Financial. I'm tempted to pile on with the 1-star ratings for them I see all over YELP reviews, because they have never been able to provided close to the level of service that we know exists with much larger financial institutions. And frankly, they never will. Getting a problem resolved, a credit card replaced, notifying them of using your CC out of state or country, even getting through on the phone to member services has always been tortuous at best.
However, the trade-off for the poor performance has largely been worth it. (I've been with them since 1985)
Imagine your regular bank calling you, to tell you that the loan you have with them now, has a new lower rate and that you can have the lower rate by just saying 'OK' over the phone. That's right, they reduced my loan balance, with No fees, No new applications.... and THEY CALLED Me.
AND...This has happened for me three times with GTE Financial (formerly GTE Federal Credit Union) since I first became a member with them.

They flagged a check fraudulent that I deposited and it cleared the other bank already. They're thieves! They do this so that your account goes negative and then clear it so they can take NSF fees out!

GTE Financial is a full disservice financial institution. They offer a full menu of options that include:
-Understaffed Drive Through Windows
-Understaffed walk up teller windows
-An understaffed Personal Banker pool
-Zero communication between this branch and their call center downtown
-An understaffed call center
-Randomly functioning debit card issuing machines
-Re-issuing the same replacement card over and over again without being asked to do
-Replacing a compromised card with one that has the exact same information down to the CVV code as the one that was compromised
GTE Credit Union used to be a nice credit union with middle of the road products and decent service. Since the change to GTE Financial it has what could seem to be active malice towards anything approaching customer service. The individuals are nice, but they are organized so incompetently, and staffed so thinly it makes for a truly awful experience every time I have to interact with them.

This is the absolute worst GTE I've ever been too. They aren't professional. They hold side conversations while customers are waiting. I waited 20 minutes for the lady to acknowledge me. All I needed was a new card. This branch is worthless and I'm closing my account with them. Do not waste your time with this sad excuse of a bank.
