Harbor Park is located right off the highway in Middletown. This park offers a beautiful view of the Connecticut River. The grass is nicely manicured, there's people walking, some jogging, dogs walking, most people are fishing. This is a small park, don't expect to make 20,000 steps here.
There are some benches where you can have your lunch. Since this is right off the highway, it isn't the most peaceful park, the highway makes it a bit noisy.
The parking lot is substantial, but it is shared with the restaurant, Tate's. This restaurant's outdoor seating, overlooking the river is very popular.
Harbor Park is a nice park if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to access it.Helpful 16Thanks 10Love this 19Oh no 3 - Sep 11, 2022
Harbor Park has a really nice walking path in Middletown, Connecticut that is along the Connecticut River.
Along with the path there is greenery for all sorts of activities. Lots of people use it for yoga or having a catch. Others use the shade while they fish in the Connecticut River. Nearby is a dock that can be used to launch boats. Local high schools and Wesleyan use the dock for crew.
The walking trail is accessible right off Main Street. There is an underpass that gets you there safely. I wish the trail was a little longer as it only takes about 10 minutes to walk one way. Still has beautiful views.
There is a section of Harbor park known as Middletown Lions Park in honor of military veterans. Thank you to Lions International for this great work!
Located in Harbor Park is the Canoe Club. It is a restaurant with beautiful views. It just re-opened under new ownership.
Altogether, Harbor Park is a really nice spot to go for a walk in Middletown!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - John S.Phoenix, AZ248272131May 21, 2014First to Review
A great place to spend a warm afternoon,
So bring a fishing pole and a red balloon.
Have a picnic on a giant plaid blankie,
And for the beautiful view, Mother Nature you can thankie.
I love making my way down to Harbor Park in the summer. There's a nice, long trail for strolling, running, and biking. Plenty of grassy space for relaxing. Killer view of the Connecticut river, the Arrigoni Bridge, and the Middletown skyline. Plenty of parking, and conveniently located off of Route 9. Bring a fishing pole; they were jumping out of the water begging to be caught.
There are frequent special events here. This past weekend there was an antique car show. This is also where they shoot off Middletown's fireworks on 4th of July.
Within the park is a restaurant (at this point it is the Canoe Club), where you can go grab a drink as well. A little bit of everything here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Mackenzie Q.Avon, CT26153268Jun 4, 2016
My oldest is on a HS Crew team and we've been to this location three times for regattas. There is parking off Dekoven with a connecting tunnel that leads you to the water. For the suspicious the tunnel does have cameras, lights and there's frequent foot traffic. The park itself is clean and family friendly. There is a bar located on the deck which is nice to watch a regatta, casual rowers or a sunset. The park has cement step seating, benches, and bench swings to relax on. All in all, this is a nice place to spend an afternoon.
