Gorgeous historic monument of Auburn.
Here I am for a waste of time restraining order. The gorgeous town of Auburn was worth the wasted time, though. The trees up here are stupendous!
Traffic was thick but manageable. Parking was not too difficult. After wasting hours of the petitioner not showing up, I enjoyed a leisure stroll through the free museum the Auburn Court house has to offer. I got to learn more about Auburn in its prime... I feel like these days are not as appreciated as much as they are now. All the hard work that shaped Auburn to what it is today.
If you get a chance to check out the courthouse, just know that many years ago, this was my official place of adoption to amazing parents...
R.I.P. Dad...
Auburn will forever have a special place in my heart.Helpful 16Thanks 1Love this 22Oh no 0 - Karyn C.Oakland, CA7663869Feb 17, 2022Updated review
Update of any comments 1,105 on February 17, 2022. My previous has twenty five votes and has thirty votes.
This is a working coutt house. First floor has free admission museum. Second floor is for marraiges and adoptions. That means using example, if I age nineteen unmarried, give my child for adoption, the Adoptive Parents come to second floor to sign any necessary papers and or documents to adopt the child I gave for adoption. Third floor is where prisoners are taken for trial. I really enjoy the museum part.Helpful 15Thanks 0Love this 15Oh no 0Jan 24, 2022Previous reviewJanuary 25, 2022

is for trials. Saturdays except March 2020 to August 2021 because of Mister Corona Virus, there are walking tours. Went on two, one in September, one in January. Very informative tours. One will learn of history of the court house, the fire house number two, Old Town Auburn, and some of the characters of days 1850s to 1900s.Jan 15, 2022Previous reviewJanuary 15, 2022

I came to this old historic building when I was summoned for jury duty. Checking in through security was quick. Security will check the contents of your bag and you proceed through the metal detectors. Security was joking with me about telling me I need to smile in order to pass the detector, lol.
I was surprised to see that this place is also a museum. It's free to the public and there are countless displays of that era. The building is beautiful with so much craftsmanship everywhere from floor to ceiling.
I was directed to go to the third floor along with a number of other potential jurors. The bailiff came out and gave us the rundown. Since the building is old and they take special precautions to make sure that no one has food or open drinks. Water bottles are allowed and drinks with lids are also allowed but no cans.
I was selected as the first eighteen! I was excited but bummed that I had to excuse myself because of hardship. The judge heard my excuse and yes, we went back and forth but ultimately, I won.
So I'm excused til next year!Helpful 37Thanks 0Love this 32Oh no 0
