We recently stayed in a queen room at Hotel St. Michael in December, located at the corner of Gurley Street, right at the end of Whiskey Row. Overall, it's a charming and historic place with a lot of character.
The free parking was a huge plus, especially in such a busy and walkable area. One standout feature was the Otis Traction elevator, which is still functional and dates back to 1925--definitely a cool experience and a must ride. The room itself was quaint and cozy, with nice vintage touches. While it lacked a microwave or fridge, they did provide complimentary bottled water, which was a nice gesture.
The hotel lobby and bistro downstairs were also lovely spots to hang out. The bistro had a welcoming vibe and offered good food and drinks. Plus, being so close to Whiskey Row meant easy access to all the fun nightlife and shops.
Also, since the hotel is on Whiskey Row, I did noticed they do offer earplugs on the nightstand.
If you're looking for modern amenities, this might not be the place for you, but if you appreciate history, charm, and a prime location, Hotel St. Michael is a great choice!
Would definitely recommend for a unique stay in Prescott!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 30, 2024
This place was such a gem!! We were in a newly remodeled room. It was absolutely gorgeous. The front desk ladies were so sweet & the lobby bar was absolutely amazing!! It was so cute. Would stay here again! Added bonus- walking distances to all the best places downtown!

Come up for an overnight stay from the valley, the hotel has been renovated and restored to a great condition, rooms are wonderful and the speakeasy in the basement was the best bar in Prescott!! I highly recommend this hotel!!

Lovely lounge area and fireplace off of the lobby. Lobby staff is top notch. However, only one ancient elevator with 2 doors (inner and outer) requiring super hero strength and agility to open and close manually in a hotel where the guest rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The elevator is too small for a full-sized cart to haul your luggage to and from your room at check-in and check-out but they do have a mini-cart that you can borrow from the front desk. NO in-room coffee, but they do have coffee available in the lobby in the morning. NO in-room fridge. On the 3rd floor the Wi-fi strength was weak and kept cutting out. The city-view rooms are so noisy from traffic that the rooms come standard with ear plugs. The interior queen rooms are quiet but smaller than any hotel I have ever stayed in.
Parking is quite far from the hotel entrance and on our final day there the loading and unloading area in front of the check-in desk was blocked off by workmen. The nearest parking garage is quite a hike for the mobility impaired, disabled and the elderly. Yes, this is a historic building, but it is well maintained, however, the elevator situation is really problematic.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 3, 2024
This hotel was kinda fun and kinda a pain in the ass. It's super old, cool. It has a great bar and bistro, awesome. It has three stories that you have to either hike or take an old timey elevator. The staff at the front desk were super cool. No ice machines so u have to hike all the way down when u need it. It's connected to lots of shops and has a darling shopping area. Our view was of a brick wall. The rooms are smallish and they have those farm doors for the bathroom that doesn't leave much privacy. The bathroom fan doesn't shut off so we had to listen to it the entire time. Overall it was fun but think I will try something else on my next visit to Prescott.

My friend and I met halfway for a talking, shopping, eating, and drinking expedition in Prescott. No parking is available other than public parking structure a block away. We walked through the bistro, but there's a side door from Gurley St. which has several steps up to the front desk, but later we found the ramp leading to the lobby on the side of the building. Sadly, the elevator was out of order, and our third floor rooms required some exertion to reach. You can feel Prescott's 5,400 ft. elevation, but they immediately brought our luggage up for us. The cheapest rooms are tiny, but my classic queen room was large, with a walk-in closet! and new carpet. The a/c works greatand the room quiet since it faced into an inner courtyard, not the park and Whiskey Row.
Service was friendly, and they gave us $2 off coupons for the beautiful, spacious bar lounge filled with comfy leather furniture, and separate from the bistro.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Jul 15, 2024
Seeing lots of mixed reviews here for hotel st. Michael. We just stayed here for one night and had a wonderful time. Yes the prices are pretty steep but luckily we were staying in one of the recently remodeled rooms. It was very nice. The staff was so friendly. There were no fridges in the room but the front desk offered to hold our leftovers and even heat them up for us in the middle of the night. Great location with many shops and restaurants in walking distance. Would stay here again.

The hotel itself is cool and the people were very nice, but seriously if you cannot do noise and I mean, serious noise, do not stay here. I had earplugs in and these are swimmers earplugs so they're very solid and I could still hear the music through them and the base was shaking our room until 2AM!! I guess our first clue should've been the earplugs the hotel left in our room.
Again, if you want to stay here because of location just ask if you're farther away from the back side of the hotel although I'm not sure it would help.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 3, 2023
Hotel St. Michael has been around for a long time. I travel to Prescott about 4 times per year and this is an easy place to stay. Their rates are very reasonable although they do fill up at times so reserve in advance. The rooms are just fine - clean and nice. I ask for a room off of the main street so that I don't hear the Whiskey Row noise.
In the morning, they get their coffee started early which I completely appreciate. I scoot down to the lobby for a cup. The staff at the desk are always very nice and have great recommendations about new places to try for a drink or a meal.
They also have parking at a nearby garage which is free and that's really nice because it can be hard to find a place to park in Prescott. I know that they are redoing the bistro but I've had excellent breakfasts there. I recommend that also.
Solid place to stay with good service.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Kristin G.Albuquerque, NM040Oct 6, 2024
