Thursday night my friends surprised me with a birthday dinner at Lake Hudson Inn.

First, John the owner is a fantastic host. The other guests were very kind to deal with my loud bunch.

I ordered a dirty martini. It was perfection! Many different drinks were ordered and all well-done. I was not focused on what everyone ordered, I can tell you everyone was amazed by the quality and quantity. I ordered a steak and loaded potato with a salad. The salad was fresh and the ranch dressing wonderful. The potato was the perfect balance of cheese, scallions, sour cream and butter. Finally-the steak. I don't normally order steaks at restaurants even though I love steaks. My hubby and best friend make the best steaks, one smoking and the other grilling. Anywho, this steak was very good. It was large, thick and had amazing flavor. It had just enough fat to make it flavorful and moist. It was cooked perfectly to medium.

If you haven't been here before-they have a small kitchen and yet produce a variety of fantastic foods. That being said-they worked diligently to get all 18 meals close to together, but it was a bit spread out. This is in no way a negative as what they do is amazing, just information. I had one guy pretty hangry, but he usually eats at 4 and this was after 6. Had I known I'd have asked to get his food out first, but he survived and had a great time.

The above and beyond-we have a gluten-free friend and John and his crew take care of him and are knowledgeable about the ingredients.

I asked for music and John played music we all knew. It was my 60th birthday. He also paid attention and heard someone call me by my childhood nickname Mickey, so he OU on Mickey, Mickey your so fine!

My hubby ordered tequila shots and two vodka shots. The glasses were cute.

In summary from a couple to a big party-they are ready for you. I really recommend this place. Check their Facebook or call because he does some neat specialty meals.

Hurry and go Check Lake Hudson Inn out. It's worth the drive from Tulsa or Joplin. Two guests drove from Missouri to come.

The place is dirty and manage poorly. The old owner was a nice and very kind person who was very lenient on everything going around in the area. New owner is not polite and very rude. Do not recommend

Great food! Great service! Easy lake access on Lake Hudson with an old dock to tie up to. Also ramp to launch.

This was our third trip to the Lake Hudson Inn. They are consistent in providing delicious cuisine. The owners are fabulous! The restaurant itself has a small-town feel with a big city menu. I highly recommend it to someone who likes good food & supporting a small business!

Most importantly: this place has new ownership effective early 2022. The existing phone number that shows up in this yelp entry is no good and I don't know how to change it, but here's their phone number: 918-7 85-5555. The address is still correct as it is the same location where it's always been. They are on Facebook as "THE Lake Hudson Inn" (my emphasis on 'THE').
So we ordered for the first time from the new owners today, got takeout that I ordered from the bar. Took about 20 minutes for them to have it out and I got there at 5:40, just a few minutes after they opened. The place was filling up fast and by the time I left with my order at six it was full with five people waiting at the door. We ordered a hamburger and a fried catfish sandwich, sides of fried okra and coleslaw (they give you a nice choice of sides). My $11 cheeseburger was one of the best I have had in many years, I mean it was absolutely outstanding. My wife really enjoyed her $14 fish sandwich, she just really missed having tartar sauce, which should have been included. She didnt care for the coleslaw, I thought it was fresh but too much mayo. The fried okra was outstanding: I think they hand-breaded it. I sure hope this place makes it! We will be regulars if they keep the quality up

Excellent place with great food. Fresh beef is hat is locally sourced. A lot of options and considerable portions. Draught beer is always a plus.
