      Awesome Campground!

One of the biggest concerns is the cleanliness of the toilets and these are well maintained!
Water facilities and the classes for the kids keep them entertained during the camping.

Parking is 2 per site but there is plenty of off-site parking for more cars. You need to pay $10 per extra car.

We went to Lake Wenatchee State Park for camping on the Memorial Day weekend. The weather was cloudy, rainy, windy, and cold. Camping with family and friends was fun and the park was pretty overall.

Campgrounds: the camp sites are pretty well spread out but they are wide open. My preference is for each site to have some kind of separation by trees and bushes for a bit of privacy.

Facilities: there are several bathroom buildings scattered around the park. It was weird only one of those facilities had warm water running. All other bathrooms had icy cold water.

Lake Wenatchee: a classic PNW lake with dramatic sceneries especially when the weather is windy and cloudy. I do not know if it is always windy here but during our camping trip, it was super windy. We had brought our stand up paddle boards but it was too windy (and COLD) to use them. We did see that there was a canoe/SUP rental popup but there were only a couple of brave folks in the water. Nonetheless, a beautiful lake indeed. Many photographic opportunities just present themselves so bring your DSLRs (or mirrorless cameras, I guess)!

Fun factor: Leavenworth is only 10 minutes away and it was really convenient to check out fun stores and cool restaurants during the trip. There is also Leavenworth Zip-lining nearby, which was fantastic. There are hiking trails around the park and they were easy, fun, and scenic.

We are looking forward to returning when it is warmer and less windy.

My wife and I explored Lake Wenatchee State Park on a beautiful weekend afternoon, one that was threatening rain, and in fact did drizzle in our drive to the lake, but was partly sunny and cleared up throughout our time at the park. This made for a great afternoon and successfully scared off any crowds. So far our time in the Leavenworth area has not been very crowdy in any of the prime nature areas. We are either here a during a lull in tourist season or there are so many great spots to check out in this state that no one area is too crowded. That last point is yet to be determined as we continue our adventure.

I took the opportunity to toss in a small spoon to hopefully catch a salmon or bass but didn't have much luck. Luck is the word of emphasis here because I didn't know the depth of the lake near the state park, which was most likely shallow, I didn't know what fish might bite, nor did I even know what types of fish were in the lake. The only information I had to go on was that fishing the Wenatchee River, which flows through the state park, was not allowed.

After not catching anything and enjoying the lake and forest beauty, I decided to put the paddleboard in the water. We put the board in the water near the boat launch and I was off. Before I could stand up, I had to get my bearing straight and wait for the numbness in my feet to dissipate. The lake water is one of the coldest I have boarded. While I was out on the lake I thought to myself that if I fell in, I would've jumped back on the board in record time to escape the water. Fortunately, I didn't fall in, and we drove back home after strapping the board to the truck.

Did a quick drive through of the park and walked around for half an hour with a friend. We had to get out of dodge because of the mosquito attack that seemed to come out of nowhere.

Really lovely area but wouldn't want to camp here.

We came up in may and it was honestly gorgeous! We ate a little breakfast at squirrel tree which was awesome and then drove up to lake Wenatchee took some pictures because it was still early in the season there was nobody there Just a few bike riders. It was clean and scenic, bathrooms were clean too.

Truly lovely and awe inspiring nature paradise a detour one should make on the way to Leavenworth. Clean washrooms available. RV trailer park for those so inclined. Picnic tables near the beach. River trail is a 10 mins to the Lake. Avoid walking through the trailer park to carpark it's a maze!

This is our second year staying in the park and it's our favorite campground to visit. Each campsite is well laid out and the facilities (bathroom and pay showers) are within easy walking distance for the entire park. There's also a ton of things to do ranging from water sports, bike riding to horse shoes. Two pointers. Reserve early do grab the best spots and if you're visiting in June, bring a ton of mosquito repellent or you'll be eaten alive.

What a great park! Flat spots to park and camp; beautiful lake nearby with nice trails. Quiet at night. Picnic tables and fire rings at all spots.

Short trek to the lake from parking, although spaces can be limited if busy with visitors

Clean and organized campground. Beautiful lake. People are respectful, not too noisy, safe to leave bikes out.

Cons: windy all the time, lots of mosquitos, minimal privacy.
Pros: south campground has minimart that has essentials: wood, ice, food, coffee. Close to local eateries and Leavenworth. Bathrooms and showers were clean.

      Tip:
      Bring lots of bug repellent.
Best campsites on south end for space and privacy: 100, 22, 60s
Golf at nearby course: Kahler resort. Around $50 for cart and 18 hole
Dine at Wildflour restaurant for good handmade pasta
      Fish at Fish Lake
Leave your floats at home, too windy and too cold to swim or do any water activities
      Best place for kite surfing
