Wakefield Marquee Cinemas has assigned seating, a large parking lot and very friendly employees. The seats are comfortable and the video and audio are good. I tend to go here to view movies now as it is better than other theaters that are dirtier and in worst shape. It still isn't cleaned to my liking and hasn't been updated or refreshed. So I hope improvements are to keeping the theater cleaner.

Tickets can be bought online but then you need the QR code to get your ticket when you arrive.
There is plenty of parking as not many people go to the theaters anymore and with the run down seats and theaters not clean I can see why. I didn't go in the restroom as I was sure that wasn't clean either. The seats need to be reupholstered but if basic cleaning was done then I am sure there would be more than three people in a theater for a new release.Jan 12, 2019Previous reviewThe Marquee Cinemas in Wakefield is an ok choice to watch a movie but there are better options around. The large parking lot is a plus and the remodeled theaters with reclining seats.
At other theaters when you buy a ticket online and pay the service fee, you are good to go and that is your ticket. At Marquee Cinemas, you need to pick up your tickets at the box office or a kiosk. So you still have to wait in a line to exchange your voucher for tickets. The voucher has a QR code but the theater does not have scanners.
The box office has been understaffed the times I've gone so there is a long wait to buy tickets or pick them up.
The employees are friendly here but management needs to better staff the theater so the ticket buying and concessions have faster moving lines.
Marquee Cinemas also needs to focus on cleaning as the cupholders tend to be sticky and popcorn is under the seats from the shows the night before.Feb 6, 2018Previous reviewI haven't been to Marquee Cinemas since the renovations. The prices went up with the changes. Matinees are $10 and evenings are $12. Tickets are purchased from the outside window and you select your seat.
It is nicer than it was with the reclining stadium seating. It seemed a little tighter there than other theaters with the seats. It could just be that all the armrests are shared with your neighbor.
The sound and picture were good and it is a better experience than it was before so it is ice to have a closer option if I do not want to drive to the other theaters. There is a lot of parking and nearby restaurants as well. So 3.5 Stars.

Employees are wonderful. The theater is incredible dirty. I have never seen so much popcorn on the floors in my life. The whole theater needs to be closed and cleaned.... It's disgusting.

A few months ago, I bought discounted tickets for National movie day or whatever. My daughter ended sick and we couldn't go. I called hoping they'd refund me but understood most likely not, bc movie theaters don't do that. Whoever, I spoke to was super understanding that it was a medical issue and refunded the money to me!
We went today to see a new kid movie that came out and again, everyone was super friendly and helpful! I got a large combo that came with refill popcorn, refill drinks and a candy. They even let my 9 year old get a refill after she accidentally tossed her cup!
I saw someone mention the bathrooms. We went midday and the bathrooms were very clean! The only thing I don't like is that they have hand dryers and not paper towels, but that's a me issue and not them hahah.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0

We recently decided to check out a movie that seemed worth a theater experience. When we showed up to our seats (that were very unclean) we noticed a tear in the theater screen.
Pretty lame that they would have obviously known about the tear in the screen and still scheduled shows in the room.
Would not recommend this theater... if they don't care about your experience, it's not worth you money.
Projector also seems old. The quality was pretty sub par for 2023

Seats need to be replaced and are gross. The leather is entirely gone and flaking off. It feels dirty.
