Monarch Resort

Beautiful location! Very nice staff, came here with my mother to just get away for the thanksgiving holiday and staff was very nice, all double bed rooms are on second floor apparently but there are nice elevators, it's a comfortable parking experience where our car feels safe, and there is a inside sauna with pool and hot tub outside.

Only reason why it's not a 5/5 is cause the breakfast is a bunch of hardboiled eggs, banana, yogurt cups, some muffins, and bagel with cream cheese out. Nothing really 'prepared' albeit filling ‍.

It's old dirty tub doesn't drain toilets run all night and nobodycares here. There's no maid service. The prices we pay for this was too much for this place and I'll never stay here again. This is what Monterey has to offer for resorts not good.

We loved this place! It's definitely older, but clean, comfortable and super friendly staff. Cozy fireplace and spacious rooms. We will be back!

The bed in our room was extremely tired and needed replacement. Also the carpet in the elevator is very dirty and gives you the impression that perhaps the carpet in the room could be harboring pest. It does not feel clean. There are also ants in the bathroom even though we are on the second floor. We have been coming here for many years and are trying our best to be objective.

We stayed for a night on a surprise trip to Monterey bay. Located in Pacific Grove, this hotel was nice and clean, included a fireplace. And honestly, for the price it's unbeatable. There's a pool, and they include breakfast! We had a good experience and will be back anytime we are in the area :)

My granddaughter and I had a girls trip to Monterey and decided on the Monarch Resort for our stay. We were very pleasantly surprised to the excellent front desk, to the great housekeeping to the very nice rooms. Everything was top notched and we would recommend to anyone that wants a clean nice room with a fireplace to stay. I can't say enough about the Monarch resort. My granddaughter did not want to leave. She loved the pool and hot tub. Everyone was so nice that it felt like a perfect home away from home. We will be back the next time we travel to Monterey.

Our stay was very good. Though it was a quick one but fun. Their room is nice and clean. They have free breakfast. Also they have swimming pool. My girls had so much fun with our quick stay. All in all, I recommend this resort for those visiting the area at Pacific Grove.

Monarch is a very solid 'no frills' hotel. Front desk service is outstanding. Rooms are very comfortable although basic. The location to the butterfly park is outstanding (within walking distance) and a short drive to great breakfast and dinner dining experiences. Highly recommend for a solid, not too expensive place to stay. They also have small offerings for a continental breakfast. Suggest asking for a 2nd story room (it's only 2 stories so why not stay on the top floor). Good job Monarch!

First time stay here, and it was very quiet, convenient to walk to the ocean and lighthouse, and out of the way of the busy section of Pacific Grove. Still, it was within a mile and a half of the cannery and Monterey Bay Aquarium.
There was a municipal golf course nearby with a restaurant open to the public, as well as the bar area for food. The hotel was nicely decorated and the staff very helpful. Continental breakfast was just that, with little protein except for Hard boiled eggs. I would recommend this place.

Monarch Hotel is our vacation home for 3 days at Monterey. Very accessible to everything like golf course, beach, restaurants. Highly recommended
