I can't find the right words that best describe Niagara Falls. One has to visit themselves to get to know what it feels like being so close to one of nature's greatest wonders.
The Falls are a beautiful place in any season. They are a-must-see anytime you are in Ontario.Helpful 16Thanks 5Love this 16Oh no 0 - Trinity P.Clayton, MO1209165Jan 30, 2025
I'd give up internet for the rest of my life just to see this place again, and I really mean it! The plants and scenery in the surrounding Niagara falls was lush and beautiful, and the falls itself was breathtaking.
I took the tour as well! It was so fun, and warning: you'll get soaking wet! That's okay, I had fun! There are also tasty restaruants on your way out, and other such. The falls was a great place to go to and I want to go again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 14, 2025
Every time someone visits us, Niagara Falls is one of the top spots we take them to! It's always busy and parking nearby can be quite limited, so arriving early is a good idea.
Make sure to bring a thicker jacket if you plan to stay near the falls for a while. The mist from the falls and combined with the wind can make it feel much colder than expected, even on a sunny day.
If you feel tired or need to use the washroom, there's a plaza nearby where you can take a break. We stopped there, grabbed some coffee and enjoyed a moment to relax.
There's also so much to explore like the casino, souvenir shops and scenic walking trails. Also, check out the illuminated falls at night if you can.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 7314183203Nov 22, 2024
Getting to visit the "most visited" Niagara Falls waterfalls for the first time (on 02/09/2024 at 9:10pm) really was something truly special!
My hubby and I were visiting New York when we decided on a whim to drive to Niagara Falls on the Canada side and I'm so glad we did because we got there at night (around 9pm) not knowing that the waterfalls would be all lit up in colorful hues of blue, red, & green! (See videos of the colorful awesomeness included w/ this review)
I highly recommend visiting at night because there were only a few other people visiting so it felt like we had the waterfalls all to ourselves.
Here are a few helpful tidbits that I wanted to pass along -
- - -cost:
This was a "free-99" thing for us to do since we didn't take a boat ride & instead walked along the boardwalk along the waterfalls.
- - -parking:
We were able to find a parking spot in a nearby lot & just walked down to the falls.
- - -wheel chair and stroller friendly:
The boardwalk along the falls is concrete so this makes it wheelchair & stroller friendly.
Did you know that Niagara Falls is the 5th most popular tourist attraction in the world?!
Another reason to visit at night to avoid the crowds .
Hope this info helps!

Visiting Toronto during spring break and Niagara Falls has been the highlight. Unfortunately, the boats aren't running this early in the year due to the ice but the fall were in full force. I'm not sure how well you can see from the American side but the Canadian side was phenomenal. We did the Journey behind the Falls which was worth it. Other than the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland, it's hard to see the back side of a waterfall. We did a quick trip across the border so my kid can say she's been to NY state and crossing was a breeze both ways. Clifton Hill was a tourist haven with a capital T. All in all, it was great to get another site off my bucket list.

My new favorite place I have been. So many great ways to see the Falls especially on the Canadian side. The American side is amazing too and mostly in a State Park. Worth seeing it all, and if you do not do drive taking a very comprehensive group tour and the Over The Falls tour was the best way to do that and see both the US and Canadian sides.

These falls are breathtaking...the volume of water that comes down every second is astonishing and the beauty surrounding this area is one of the prettiest in the world.
We got to take pictures of the Horseshoe falls and the American falls from the Canadian side and there were always spots to take pictures and to enjoy the beauty of these natural wonders.
Visiting the falls is free. Parking around is going to cost something from probably $10-50...so plan accordingly and be patient regarding the parking situation ... it can be tiresome.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Aug 3, 2024
As soon as you tell anyone, "I'm going to Niagara Falls" they will excitedly respond, "It's better from the Canadian side!" And this is true. Just look at any satellite image and you'll see that the Niagara River (which splits the New York and Ontario) makes a turn, giving a great view from the north looking south. Sorry America, that's just how geography works. With a total elevation drop of 325 feet (99 meters), it flows into the Niagara Gorge.
There are a number of ships that will bring tourists into the gorge to get drenched by the Falls. The famous Maid of the Mist is one, but that departs from New York and I wasn't ready to cross the border yet. So I booked one of the tours from the Canadian side and afterwards, continued to explore the Ontario side of Niagara Falls.
It's magnificent. It's tremendous. And it's absolutely something you should not miss. Expect to get drenched and plan for it. Yes, you'll get a poncho (my ship was handing out red ones) and it won't help at all. Bring a change of clothes and a change of shoes. Enjoy yourself at this wonder.

I'm baaack. After 8 yrs. I brought my nephews and they were able to see the Falls. The winter falls are just spectacular. In my opinion is best to see the falls from all seasons. We didn't stay long because it was freezing cold but we stayed long enough to marvel at the view. We made sure to view from Canada & the US and did a bit of shopping while in Canada. We plan to come when it's warmer so they can do the activities at the Falls.

I was surprised to learn there were two falls. We did the water level tour... it was beautiful at one point, then crazy wet with no visibility later. The falls is a romantic spot and I'd definitely come back.
