Old Rangers Inn

We are so happy to have found this little hidden gem during our trip to Hawley. It's definitely a spot for locals to enjoy great food and great atmosphere. I'm amazed by how juicy and tender the steak is, not to mention its inviting smoky flavor. I learned from the lady at the bar that this property has been serving the local community since 1932, and I have no doubt that it'll continue to be the go to spot for good food and drink for the foreseeable future. We'll be definitely back.

Guess who's back? Back again...anyway, love this place! Came up here last week and decided to try the pizza. I love me some good ol bar pizza. This was perfect too. Crispy and delish, and just look at the sausage on it! Not bad for $12, right?! Once again, if you're in the Greentown area, just get here and try the grub, you won't be disappointed at all!

So after driving by this place for the past year or so, we finally were enticed to stop by the sign of "Smoked Baby Back Ribs" and given some of the poor reviews posted, we reluctantly tried. And what a surprise we had. Yes, the place has a bar on one side and dining room on the other, so they are separated and your are NOT treated poorly.

The staff was wonderful, especially Francesca who made sure we were well supplied with beverages, made great recommendations for entree selection, and checked on us frequently.

I tried their steak and shrimp special. It came with the salad bar which was very fresh and delicious. The steak was large, and was a good steak, a bit on the fatty side. The shrimp, grilled in butter and garlic, were phenomenal. I could have just that and be satisfied. The side of green beans were nicely cooked, tender and light seasoning.

My hubby had the ribs, of course. They came out, falling off the plate, hot (unlike other ribs we have had in other restaurants in the area), and were delicious. The balance between bark and smoke was perfect. The sides - cole slaw was terrific (best he ever had), corn on the cob was excellent, hot, juicy and fresh, and the fries were crispy on the outside and tender on inside and a plentiful portion and a wonderful price.

The rest of the clientele in the restaurant were mostly families and were very chatty and friendly. I think we found a new go-to spot were we will be welcomed back. Future reviews will evaluate other items on the menu.

It's a traditional pub style restaurant. Very delicious food and decent price, which is very precious when inflation skyrocketed everywhere today. Definitely a five star!

Very good food! Reasonably priced. Love the salad bar !!!! Not very fancy inside and is a little dark and dated.

Decided to try the wings and was horribly disappointed. These were clearly sitting under a heat lamp all day and then they rolled them in minimal sauce. They were horribly dry and they messed up the order and wouldnt take responsibility. Tried to reach out to the owner and he doesnt even bother responding so I guess they dont care about customer service or referrals. For all you people visiting PROMISED LAND STATE PARK, there are great wings just down the road....keep driving!

Terrible if your passing through attempting to find decent food to eat - apparently it's good for locals....who are day drinkers. The food is cheap, and on par (somewhat) for the price but I would not go back - if your not used to being a bar fly.

Great steak dinner today! Broccoli soup was good along with the vegetable soup. Have been here a few times has yet to disappoint.
