Rio Car Wash

I visit Rio Car Wash at least once a month. There is always a friendly attendant available to help you with payment at their self-service payment machines.

I typically go for the regular wash, no frills for about $12. Rio Car Wash does offer a monthly unlimited plan but as a childless person, who doesn't drive for a ride share, I typically don't need a car wash more than once a month.

After paying, you are guided by another attendant into the car wash and all you need to do is throw that baby in neutral and relax. Complimentary vacuums, windex and microfiber towels are provided, they seem to allow a bit of detailing while you use vacuums.

My only recommendation is adding hand sanitizer at the vacuum or towel stations. All in all Rio does the job.

I visited rio car wash over the weekend to give my poor car a quick cleanse. Pollen season is rough!!

I almost missed rio as the signage is a bit confusing but says go clean in orange and in other signs less prominently seen rio is marked. Why they seem to have multiple names I don't know.

Employees were there to help at checkout which is a plus for those new to system. A real live person also guides you into wash- another plus.

I got to line and ordered managers special for $18. It was quick and easy. Wash was relaxing and car looked decent. Vacuums are plentiful and no extra charge. There were plenty of stations so no waiting to vacuum and no pressure to hurry. The larger tool does suck out dirt and junk. The smaller tool for small Spaces didn't do much so I gave up. Dog hair was not coming out so I will have to come up with another plan. Most vacuums can't get all the hair so I don't blame rio. My dog who claims to not shed is not being truthful!

Hard to say if the extras on top of normal wash are worth it. I personally get my car waxed again as the wax applied is not the same as hand waxing. The rain-x hasn't been tested so can't say but again hand applying always works best for me. Tires looked improved but I still went over them again with a rag and applied my own tire shine. If a shine was included- with wash-I couldn't tell.

I've had similar washes and paid less. The monthly plans seem to be the way to go. Just a few more bucks ($21) and go all month.

The experience was nice and my car is happier and cleaner. I'll consider upgrading to a plan. There are a number of competitors in the area I plan to visit so I'm not a regular at this point.

Also, there was a sign with "no loud music" which as a middle age women I didn't understand until someone played loud music. Again I'm old and it was an annoyance but I made it through without complaining. I figure I annoy everyone with my old lady driving and it was payback time.

Great car wash, did the managers special for $20. Tires great, Windshield was definitely treated with rainex which held up for our rainy weekend trip. I was disappointed in the weak vacuum. I went early Saturday morning which only had two other vacuum customers so usage should not have had an adverse effect.

Have been a loyal client since they opened but as of 4/12/2022 they are under new ownership. New guidelines don't allow for some factory installed vehicle parts to go through the car wash. Bug shield, some sun roofs and other items are just a few. They lost our business. Went to Car Spa and got a monthly pass no questions. What a shame.

I Really like Rio car wash! I pay $20 a month and can cruise through any time I want. I love being able to get my car completely clean somewhere besides my driveway.... especially in the Winter. At 1st I thought it seemed like a lot of money, so I quit for a few months. I was not happy with doing all that cleaning in my driveway twice a month. I really missed my car wash! It is fast, easy and gentle on your car. If you clean your car more than once a month the 20 dollar deal is a good one. If you go just 2 times a month.... you are saving money in the longrun.

Getting through is pretty quick and that makes it extra convenient.

I do my car about 3 times a week, and other than the door jams, it comes out looking like new.

I used to go to Freedom and Grand Slam, since those were the only good car wash places in VB. BUT NOW Rio is much much closer to where I live and is super fast and convenient (and better imo). The location the perfect spot to get your car cleaned. It's down on Lynnhaven Road next to Pep Boys. Its a place where you can make a quick stop before you go to the mall, beach, after school, after work, whatever it is -it's right there and you can't miss it!

When I drive to the entrance an employee was telling me about their manager special package. He was friendly, upbeat, informative, and didn't pressure me into buying anything I didn't want. I told him it was my first time here and he recommended trying the $12 is the best for your buck. I drive a Sentra so I can pass on the fancy stuff.

The car wash took less than 3 mins. It lasted an entire song is how I remembered lol. Anyway after you're done, you go around into the vacuum area. I liked that the vacuums are free. I ended up only using the big wide one. I found that the precise vacuum head didn't suction that well. That seems to be an issue with most car wash places. The vacuums aren't powerful enough. They were good enough to clean my entire car within 15-20 mins.

I will most likely be coming back since it's the closest to me. It gets busy on days when it's sunny out. Who doesn't want to show off their squeeky shiny clean car off on the road?!

Price went up to $10 for basic was without notice. Like they can change there prices online. But to late I already drove all they way here.
