Let me say that this is a gem that is overlooked and some of y'all don't know what you are missing.

This isn't some fancy spot, it's a hole in the wall, things are basic but it's done RIGHT! Kudos to yelpers who lead us here and the negative reviewers need to rethink what they know because complaining about your hard boiled egg not being peeled for you is ridiculous!

So we arrived and greeted and asked if we were eating in or taking to go. We said we wanted to sit on the deck and were told to go ahead and he would be out there shortly.

He came with menus but we already had an idea of what we wanted (thanks yelpers) and started with the catfish nuggets, we got a half feast low country boil, a lemonade and a Corona. The lemonade is sweet and the Corona wasn't dressed or as cold as I like but that is seriously my only complaint.

The catfish came to the table hot & fresh. It didn't have a fishy taste and was cooked perfectly!!! The tarter sauce was on point and usually I would toss some hot sauce on my fish but this didn't need it. The boil came to the table and it was time to dig in! Everything was absolutely seasoned well and delicious. It seemed like every time I moved a piece of potato there was a shrimp hiding under it. It was so much food that we were stuffed when we left.

Granted our hard boiled eggs weren't peeled but I don't know of any place that peels your eggs for you. There could be a little more sausage but once again, there was so much food that I didn't feel like this deserved losing a star for.

If you are in the area, stop by, you won't regret it!

I decided to give Skippers a try and it did not disappoint. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned. The food portions are enough for 2 people. Service was great and we had a chance to meet Skipper.

Very clean restaurant, friendly service, excellent food (grouper, spicy tartar, fresh fries, crunchy hush puppies, moist coleslaw)...all fresh and perfectly prepared.

First time having authentic southern fried seafood and Skippers did not disappoint. We had the fried catfish and fried shrimp platter. We were even served by skipper himself. He really gave true southern hospitality.

This is a quaint little spot that serves fresh cooked & uncooked seafood.
I visited yesterday for the first time after passing them many times.
I was pleasantly surprised at the selection of beer & booze available for consumption with your meal. The prices are slightly higher than other fish joints but not outrageous.
The fish tasted fresh & was fried beautifully. Not a fan of the creamy coleslaw. Hushpuppies tasted kind of stale......maybe old oil. Not a deal breaker.
Will probably visit again but not my first choice.

Can't miss catfish served with a generous helping of Southern Hospitality!!

We came all the way from California to visit family and catch the sites around the Columbus. Stumbled into Skippers and found both the service and food to be rave worthy. Skipper was the definition of hospitality our drinks never more than half empty and he helped us make the visit memorable with his humor and charm.

The catfish was truly amazing, perfectly fried and breaded. I am not exaggerating when I say I would return to Georgia for a second helping. Everything from the sides to the appetizers were made with care and attention to detail. Don't normally enjoy coleslaw but the coleslaw alone was worth the price of admission.

Walk, drive, fly or jump in but definitely don't pass on Skipper's.

Food is good and staff very friendly. I prefer my fried seafood lightly fried and skippers hit that nail on the head. Some places over fry the food at its served more crunchy than tender and flakey.
I've eaten here each time my job site has me in the area, and will be back again.

I went here because of the Yelp reviews but honestly I think he had to have had a promotion or something to obtain this high rating. I definitely wanted to support as it is black owned but the guy was rude. While at the register I had the phone to my ear to order for the person on the phone and I was asked to get off. In a very blunt manner. So I got off and just ordered for myself. I got the half table feast hot. It wasn't hot/spicy. The food actually reminded me of if I tried to cook it at home. The boiled egg was still in its hard shell. This blew my mind. The shrimp seemed as if they were store bought. The seasoning was literally probably Tony Chachere's. Nothing immaculate at all aside to them wrapping up the to go box well in Saran Wrap. Very convenient.

      I wish I could leave a positive review. I can't though. Sorry.

Came here all the way from California today and I love this spot. The service was great and the two guys working there were really nice. Southern hospitality. We don't typically have this style of food in California so it was a great place to come and get some good, authentic Southern fried seafood.
