Another Chinese buffett place. We went there because we wanted to try something new and nearby. It qualified on both counts.
I can only say the food was not that bad. I found some of the food a bit on the dry side, especially the General Tso chicken. The choice was pretty good, but it was all the same stuff you see in the standard chinese buffetts.
Nothing really to make this place stand out. Ambiance again is standard chinese buffett - cafeteria style, large, pretty open room.
I found the price a bit high for the value we got.

Great customer service, fresh sushi and delicious food.
They could improve by keeping their food a little bit more warm.

      Whew, this was pretty dicey.

My first impression was a nice smell as I walked in the door, but walking to the buffet, I soon saw string beans submerged in oil? with a nicely aging film on top. Sunday lunch is often a hopping time for restaurants, but the crowd at Spring Buffet was dang sparse.

I had a couple of decent dishes - namely the Hunan shrimp and coconut shrimp - to motivate me to give Spring Buffet 1.5 stars. The coconut shrimp is not the fried stuff a la Bahama Breeze; it's cooked in a cream-colored and -textured sauce that is kinda sweet. I've seen it called walnut shrimp or Imperial shrimp at other places. I don't see it often, and I make a mental note every time I see it because it's my own Chinese crack.

Approach the sushi bar with the caution of pre-surgical gowning procedures. I've been known to drop all standards for some buffet sushi, but this was pretty nasty. The wasabi looked like melting lime sherbet. Any fish was tough to locate in most of the rolls. The same can be said about Eat Well's lunch sushi (I've never had their dinner to know), but Eat Well sushi tastes good.

I'm not sure if Spring Buffet charges dinner prices for Sunday lunch, but my bill was $10 with water. Quite an ambitious charge. For that kind of money, this place should be competing with Eat Well (~$12 lunch), Grand Buffet in Germantown (~$11 at night), or Grand Pacific in Bartlett, which is substantially cheaper. And SB comes nowhere close to those.

If I ever do Spring Buffet again, I'll order takeout. But the presence of Mayuri about 200 ft away makes that scenario unlikely.

It's friendly and clean, has a good sushi and teppanyaki bar, is reasonably priced and quiet. And they DO have wifi. I've found they serve out smaller portion sizes to keep the buffet fresh. Going there tonight as a matter of fact.

I would give two and a half stars but that half star would round up in this situation. Decent but very standard Chinese Buffet... Sushi rolls were better than some Chinese buffets but not great... Our value was amazing because of a Groupon.

Super nice people working and a nice enough atmosphere for a buffet. The food though just isn't very good. I tried it 4 or 5 times in the months after it opened and last time I knew it would be the last. When there are several places with excellent Asian food very near I just don't see the point in going here.

The service is lackluster despite there's never been a crowd. If you eat in you can eat all the sushi you want, as well as the buffet. The place is always clean, nice tvs throughout, the sushi is decent and i think they have wifi now.

My husband and I have eaten here at least 5 times. It has become one of our favorite places to go when we visit relatives in Memphis. Although similar to other Chinese buffets, one big difference is the great taste of the food. We're not bashful when hitting the buffet station and we always comment on how good and fresh every item tastes. It's a great value anytime, but especially at lunch. With the buffet and 2 teas, it comes to a little over $19.00.

I can honestly say that this is the best Chinese buffet I've ever been too. I wish some of these negative reviewers had been to Spring Buffet when it first opened. It was under different management and there were more food options and friendlier staff. However, the Spring Buffet that exists today is still high quality. The sushi alone is delicious and the fact that you can get as much as you want is worth the price alone (which by the way is very affordable). My personal favorites on the buffet are the coconut shrimp and honey chicken. Although this restaurant can feel a little empty and quiet at times (they should utilize the televisions they have), the overall atmosphere is clean, well lit, and accommodating. Give this place a try, you will definitely find something you'll enjoy.
