Star Club

LOVE THIS old little dive bar ! My husband and I, along with all of our buddies super enjoy coming here on any random day ! Especially Friday's, they usually have Live Bands(which are so fun !) Blaring Juke Box , and Great free our drinks ! A couple big Pool tables , Great place to socialize or meet up ! And they always keeps it nice and cool - important for this valley heat! The bartenders are cool and keep your drinks on point! Oh and the bathrooms are clean ....

Where's Bob!? He was THE man!?! Bring back the bob!! Great place for chilling and drinking and making new friends.

I've noticed that all the reviews are somewhat dated, so I'm just updating so you'll know that nothing has changed over the years except the place is a little older, curling up around the edges, the stale beer smell when you first walk in is still there, maybe a few extra rain stains on the ceiling...but the juke box rocks or wails, the lone old school pinball machine gets some action, the pool tables are always busy, the regulars still all bunch up at the far end of the bar with the barkeep, the drinks are still generous and they aren't pushed on you before you even finish the last one. Everyone I've met there is a little quirky but very sweet and harmless. Bathrooms are surprisingly clean. You can bring food in from the Mex bakery or the Vietnamese place both just around the corner. What's not to like?

I am new to Merced, but I enjoy checking out which bars are the best bars. Been to a few good ones, BUT only ONE GREAT no no no... AWESOME BAR! Scotty is a chill ass dude that made it feel like I was a regular & like I was at home. Haven't been to another bar since. Live music on the weekends & 2 pool tables ready to roll what else can you ask for. 5 Stars ya'll

The ole Star! Can't beat Starrin. Best day drinking place in Merced. When I say day drinking, I mean 800am-1100am. Done 630am, a couple times but, only for special occasions. Lol anyway, great bartenders, the regulars are awesome, cocktails are great, always good music going and the diveyness can't be beat. Were else can you get porn out of a grappling game!! Keep real str Club!

When you get tired of overpaying for "measured pour" drinks elsewhere (i.e., Applebee's), I highly recommend the Star Club. We love their "free pour" drinks. Best Long Island Ice Teas I've ever had! We like to stop in on Friday nights and enjoy the free live music in this cozy/divey bar whenever we're in town.

I went there last week. There is a great atmosphere there . It's a kind of dive bar with nice people and a fabulous band
A great female vocalist who reminded me of Janice Joplin . She also plays a mean Sax. Go there Friday or Saturday for a great of dancing

Scotty is the best. Besides atmosphere he make you feel like family. If you need to relax or have a good time. Or meet good people. This is the place. Kathy and Tina are great too. They open at 6 am if you want before work readiness. Come try out a perfect pour from Scotty.

Nice dive bar.. heavy poured drinks which is always a plus.. I would like to see the band hit and run again they were great... every bar needs a good band in my opinion!
