We rented a deluxe king room with fireplace and in room hot tub.

There were no instructions given at check in for use of the fireplace. It appears to be a true wood burning fireplace. I would be nervous to use it though....and it's not like they said, "The firewood is located...." When was the chimney last cleaned? It just seemed like a lot.

The hot tub drain plug was stripped so the tub didn't hold water.

Needless to say, we spent one night and then left. Wouldn't waste the money on any "upgraded" room here because they upgrades are not functional.

The area is pretty and the bike/walking paths were lovely.

It's a pretty dead area past 8:00 pm. Didn't disappoint us, as we aren't into much night life.

They appear to be trying to make improvements and renovations to the property but as with any kind of project, schedules be damned.

      Probably wouldn't stay here again.

***edit: to add insult to injury, they internet is no longer working. There's nobody to call to reset it either because the front desk staff leaves at 8 pm. It's 11:30. ‍

      Sigh.

DO NOT stay at this hotel! We made our hotel reservations on March 20, 2024 (the same day we purchased non-refundable tickets for the Scottish Festival in Townsend) for May 17-19. We spoke directly to the Tremont hotel to make the reservations. I received a confirmation email with a receipt from the Tremont on March 20 and on that same day I asked about early check-in. The front desk employee said I could call the hotel the morning of our check-in and request an early check-in time. So on May 17, 2024 at 8 AM (the day we were supposed to check-in) I phoned the hotel to request the early check-in only to be routed to a third-party company located somewhere in eastern Europe telling me that my reservation had been canceled on April 26!! The Tremont uses a third-party company based in Eastern Europe (I am guessing this by the eastern European accents of the employees I spoke to) to manage and cancel their reservations. This was an unpleasant surprise. The Eastern European third-party company told me repeatedly someone from the Tremont hotel would call me and explain what happened. No one ever did. I called several times that morning and my calls were routed again to that third-party company. Thankfully I was finally able to find a direct line phone number for the hotel using Google maps. After speaking to an employee at the Tremont we learned that the hotel had canceled our reservation on April 26, 2024 because hotel renovations had not been completed in time and two of the three hotel buildings were not ready for guests to occupy and we would receive a refund back to our credit card (which we have not yet received as of May 19).
I looked back at my emails and in the spam folder was an email sent on April 26, 2024 from what appeared to be a private party (a person with a first and last name) and not the Tremont. My email categorized this communication as spam, sending it directly to a spam folder. It was the Eastern European Company sending the email. There was no mention of the Tremont anywhere in that email. They offered me a laughable 10% discount off my next stay for the inconvenience (as if I would ever stay there after all this!)
We were in a terrible predicament as we already had purchased nonrefundable VIP tickets for the Scottish festival at $150 EACH !! To make matters worse, there was a big wedding, Jeep rally and few other events going on in Townsend, which meant there were no rooms available anywhere in the area.
Here is what the Tremont should have done: the Tremont hotel staff located here in the USA should have telephoned EVERY GUEST whose reservation was canceled and NOT rely on an email sent by a third-party.
I was also told the Tremont hotel has changed ownership three times in the last year. So if you are looking for a reliable hotel, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. NASTY!
Floors are nasty. Walked through in white socks that in one trip are now black. Tub still had hair and bugs in it. Toilet seat is not even attached. Heater kicks on and off every 30 seconds because the curtains block the air. It's raining and water is puddled at our door. Tv is cheap and picture sucks. Hairdryer base attached with one screw and not secured so when drying hair the whole base comes off the wall. While the water is hot the shower head sucks. Pillows are pathetic. Keurig is beyond NASTY! Cobwebs and dust everywhere. Why do we pay a "cleaning fee" when it doesn't appear cleaning has been done? And ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! No one at the front desk after 10pm. It's now 10:20am and still no one at the front desk or has anyone returned our calls after leaving a message with the office.

My husband and I stayed at the Tremont Lodge for 4 days/3 nights. We enjoyed our stay for the most part. When we arrived an older lady checked us in, she was very sweet and we thought she had said breakfast was from 7:30-11:00, however one day we showed up at 10:40 and a younger lady informed us breakfast closed at 10:30. We had a room with a fireplace (we supplied firewood) and a balcony on the second floor. While we spent most of our days away from the hotel, we did enjoy the indoor hot tub every night, one of those nights it smelled bad, but the next night it had been cleaned! The establishment is under new management.

I stayed at Tremont for a week, I left out today. Hardly anyone there, yet they overbooked our room and strangers walked in on us. Today we tried to load our vehicle and they deactivated our key cards early and then Sheila's reply was "did you put them next to a cell phone?" No, one had never even been out of the folder.

Then they overcharged us by 95+ and Sheila's reply (whose name is on the merged reservations that caused the issue) was, you'll have to get everything together and email it to us, I can't do anything about charges even though her name was on the paperwork where the issue arose. She wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise or look at it in black and white so now after an already stressful week, I get to go home and do her job to get my money refunded. I did show her briefly my first reservation charge vs what they charged me, that it was an overcharge and her reply was "oh sorry about that" but she didn't fix it. The balance, minus the deposit, which I would have gladly paid at reservation time, was supposed to be charged at check-in but my cc company sent me a message saying it had been charged early that morning, prior to my arrival.

We had to extend by day, 3 times on 3 separate reservations after the initial reservation ended. It appears that instead of pulling it into the system daily, it seems they cancelled one of them and merged 2 days together to shorten their work, but it didn't refund the charges they'd already charged my cc and then merged the 2 nights together which then charged me yet again. Great bookkeeping protocol!

When I asked for the owners name and contact information, Sheila said she did not have that. I asked for the new manager's phone number but of which she would not give, only an email. I wanted to wait until the mgr was available and Sheila said I could go out and sit in my truck all day. So obviously the new management is not available.

I have been staying here for years when I need to be in the area but I assure you that ended today thanks to Sheila.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here!

      Pros:
      Comfy king size bed!
      Bathroom was extremely clean.
Grounds are beautiful. Such peaceful scenery.
      Moderate size pool.

      Cons:
      Water stains on the ceiling.
First world problem: only mirror in the bathroom, made it hard for me to finish getting ready while husband showered.
Lots of paint chips peeling in the room.

But like I said, overall - very nice stay!

from the sounds of it it used to suck pretty bad. I am currently staying at it and we are very pleased. the new management/owners are doing it right. no bed bugs. it's CLEAN. CAPRET IS NEWER. All the beds, box springs seem newer. I would recommend bed bug mattress protectors. but other than that it was exactly what I was hoping for. we went out of our way rather than staying at a comfort inn. very pleased and have already told my husband we have to come back. worthy to say I wish they would raise their prices though because I think they could and it will limit it turning into a motel. I would pay more for this and I am on a strict budget. it's great value.

Hello, I stayed in room 5108 Nov 22-24. I got bitten over 27 times by bed bugs, the room smelled like a wet dog, there were cobwebs everywhere, the sofa pullout bed mattress was ripped completely open to the box springs, and my key card locked me out of the room at 0945 the day of checkout causing my dog and personals getting locked in room until I could find someone on the grounds as the front office lobby was closed. When I called to complain and asked to submit formal grievance with the owner or manager the front desk clerk was rude, argumentative, used profanity, called me a liar, and hung up on me.

I actually rate this place 0/10. Rooms are old n outdated, smell musty and are just plain filthy. Made my skin crawl just walking in room and indoor pool building. Kids chanting at midnight outside and making threats. Called front desk and no answer. Ended up calling sheriff to handle the situation and checked out at midnight.
This place is unsafe and should be shut down! No handsoap, lights, or fans in room. Toliet is loose n vent dirty n loud! No customer service! Gross! Steer clear!
Left message for front desk at checkout and never heard back
