US Post Office

I'm NOT reviewing the postal workers whatsoever, they have their hands full.

I'm reviewing the fact that there is ONE Post Office for THREE communities: Huntington Station, South Huntington and Dix Hills, and it's NOT WORKING. The mail is continuously misdelivered because of the extreme volume out of one post office for such a large area. There is important mail that I do not receive and I continually get other people's mail. Also, I have to go to the Town of Babylon post office in Deer Park because my post office is so far away and difficult to access. I've lived on Long Island all my life and I have NEVER had such bad delivery as I have had here. I'm sorry, but there needs to be a post office opened in both Dix Hills and South Huntington to relieve the stress off of this post office--and make it easier to visit one, rather than drive a minimum of 16 minutes (more like 20-30 minutes) and 8 miles to what can best be described as chaos central. Enough! Each community deserves to have its own Post Office!

Bad, slow and unreliable service, worst branch. They keep raising the fees and things just keep getting worse.

A convenient Postal Office that has plenty of parking space and are pleasant, informative, and patient regardless on those occasional presumptuous requests.

US Post Office's in the area is located on a busy main road where there are many busy shopping centers.

After going to 2 different post offices in the area, and after being turned away by the Huntington Post Office, I went to this location renew my passport and needed assistance expediting the application. Sean helped me right away, he re-took my photo, double checked the application, and gave me advice on what to do if my passport did not come in time. Very professional and kind.

Worst experience with a post office I've ever had!! Packages being left in unlocked lockers in our condo complex. A package with an expensive light fixture was stolen. Called and got literally no where with the lady I spoke to. Told me to call the police. We know how that goes. No keys were added to the lockers after reporting it. Came out to the mailboxes today. Same thing. Packages stuffed and exposed in an unlocked locker. Called and requested to speak to a supervisor. I got Joe on the phone and explained the situation Joe seemed receptive and told me to hold while he put me on hold. He also told me that I shouldn't call the police. The post office has special "investigators." Ummm. Ok Joe. No mystery here. It was left in an unlocked locker and someone took it. Case solved!!!!! Well, I've been on hold now for over an hour. The best part is, my husband also called and spoke to Joe last week, and Joe did the same exact thing. Still on hold.... We may break a record. I'm not hanging up. I'll stay on this line all day. Until they probably "accidentally" disconnect me. I just wish there was a negative 10 stars option! We're up to 1 hour 8 minutes. I'll keep everyone posted on how long this takes.

Amazing. I had to get my finger prints taken for a background check. I was in and out in 8 minutes. 8minutes is practically unfathomable.

This is the most poorly run post office I've ever experienced.
The tumbler that you drop packages into at the automated shipping center is both missing it's handle and almost always stuck in an open position. It's been like this for YEARS. One time I has an employee tell me that's it's stuck because it's full. They did not offer to go back and clear it out. It seems it is almost always full.

The Priority Mail box station is almost always empty. Once I went in and the only box was a medium size box that someone had broken down, after it was already used, and stuck back in there.

I've gone in the evening that the credit card swipe to open the door is broken, it has been hanging off the door for years.

I've gone in after hours and the gates around the stamp / packaging "shop" are either not locked or not even closed.

It's dirty, the fixtures are all broken, it genuinely looks like no one cares at all and there is no postmaster making a six figure salary at this location.

I just went there to mail an eBay order. My printer didn't work so I had to bring it to a person to take care of the postage.
I got there at 8:38 am I wanted to be first on line due to the Covid 19
The Asian postal woman came out to check on something & she saw me standing on line waiting. There was nobody else on line.

She then said Let me help you out.
She opened the counter gates and took my package and just helped me out.

I told her Thank you so much, this was really kind of you, and she just said no problem.

As I was leaving I herd the counter gates closing because they still were not open.

That kind act speaks volume to me. What a nice human being this person is. I needed to write this because it's always easy to complain but it takes time to compliment good people.

She made my day start off great.

As of late some of my mail has been missing. I have a camera outside of my house. The Huntington station postal workers have been keeping certain items that I've ordered for themselves. If they keep it up...there will be an investigation. I'm pretty sure they need their jobs.

Just called to find out where my package was. The call was answered quickly and the person who answered was able to solve my issue in a few minutes! Great Job!
