I have used this post office for a good many years now.
If you get a box here they work the same as other post office boxes.
You start with Two keys.
Replacement p o boxes vary in price depending on if you go in or order online.
I recommend going in person when possible for the best results.
They have standard business hrs.
The post office clerks have always been helpful and kind to me.
They do have peak hrs.
So if your have business you need to get done.
Call ahead and ask for a good time to go.
Getting into the post office / leaving can be a bit of a pain due to cars blocking view while trying to leave or the street light being right in front of the main entrance.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - John F.Westbrook, ME42215412Aug 14, 2017
Today I wanted to drop off a prepaid 1st class small package.
I had to park out back at the loading dock.
Upon opening the door to the service/counter, I was greeted by people in line almost out to the door I was trying to go in. Probably 25 people in line ahead of me, one clerk. See the issue?
I left, went to the other end of Munsterville to a UPS Store with one clerk, and dropped it off instantly.
Don't bother with the post office in Westbrook, it is a hole.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Brianna W.Portland, ME22235Dec 31, 2018
I go here often. The staff is friendly. There is never more then a five minute wait. They have shipping supplies and free boxes. It's convienently
Located and has a parking lot. The other reviewers must have been having a bad day. Yes that intersection can be tricky but that's most of downtown Westbrook and just a fact of life if you drive.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Adrian D.South Portland, ME1366118Jan 2, 2017First to Review
This would be a nice post office if it wasn't such a nightmare to get in and out of.
If you're heading east on Main Street, forget it. Making a left turn into the post office parking lot is impossible and/or will get you into an collision. Keep going east, find a place to turn around, and try again.
If you're coming from Spring Street and think you can zip across and go straight in, forget it. Same routine as above.
Once you're in the parking lot, be extra careful backing out of your space because people come FLYING in (due to how difficult it is to get in; they're frustrated, understandably).
Parking lot traffic is one-way, and in order to get out, you have to drive around back and exit across from Angelone's Pizza, but you're not allowed to turn left here, so forget going east; gotta do the "turn around and try it from a different direction" routine again.
You know it's bad when the post offices in downtown Portland are easier/faster/safer to get in and out of.
Credit where it's due: most of the employees are friendly and helpful. If you live/work in the immediate vicinity and can get there on foot, I envy you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
