    About the Business

Established in 1949. Family owned and operated since 1949. Our pier has weathered many a storm and has risen from the dead after the Ash Wednesday storm that demolished the entire portion of the pier over the water. Rebuilt and repaired over the years and still going strong. 2021 has brought a new management team and we have completed some much needed repairs and updating. Hope you all will stop by to fish or just take a relaxing stroll. Gift shop, shell shop, bike rentals, Ocean Eddies restaurant, snack bar, and of course the pier house bait and tackle for all your fishing needs are located on our property. See you soon!

Nice pier, nothing out of the ordinary. Cost a little bit to just go walking but I understand the need for upkeep.

I am sad to say this because I wish the pier was awesome But it is NOT. Hold onto your hat because Im going to be brutely honest. This is a tourist trap and not a very good one either. Fishing is ok if this is all you can do but it cost to much to get on the pier and they even charge you just to walk on. We went for the free day and we were all shocked how underwelming it is. They have a cleaning station but I have been to other piers that are way way better. This looks like it is minimalist and from the 1960's. They need to remodel. They have a couple of gift shops. Junky and very very crowded. The isles are so little they need to make it going in one way and coming out the other. Im serious it is that crowded.

The pier is an eyesore and a disappointment. Im a local and love love love VA Beach. They need a huge update. We were all shocked how bad it is. I would not give it any stars but you have to give a star to leave a review. Sorry if I offended anyone but it has to be said. CLEAN IT UP PEOPLE

Not a bad place to fish AND crab. It does cost and it can be hefty if you don't come with your own gear so be warned. Parking only in the lot and that's expensive too but once you get on it's all good and the ppl are super nice and informative about baits, jigs etc

This pier is located off of the VIrginia Beach Boardwalk. You may pay to go onto the pier. $3 for spectators with no fishing gear and $12 if you plan on fishing (2 poles or 2 crab pots allowed). You can also rent a rod from there at $10 per rod, plus a deposit. I do not think the pier is really worth paying for if you ask me. Hours for the pier vary. It is open from 6 AM to Midnight from May 28th through October 31st.

Rumor has it that you can catch various types of fish there including kingfish, spot, croakers, Spanish mackerel, blue fish, sharks and red drum. And that you do not need a fishing license to fish from the pier.

Right before the booth that you pay to go out onto the pier you will find Ocean Eddie's Restaurant and the Pier Gift Shop. The pier itself is not in the best of shape and looks pretty ratchet. There are a bunch of benches on the pier to sit, pole holders on the railing and it has decent lighting at night.

There is metered street parking and a few commercial lots and garages within walking distance that you can park at to visit here. The meters cost about $2/ hour and the lots vary in price depending on what is going on and the season.

I do not see myself paying to go on a pier, with the hope of catching a fish. There is so much more to do on the boardwalk. This would be a low priority of things to do during my time on the Boardwalk. If you are dead set on fishing here, I wish you good luck.

I've walked up to this many many times and shopped for fudge and beach-themed goodies and seen Ocean Eddie's but I've never fished here or paid to fish here.

This past weekend my mom and her fiancée were in town and we had a boat fishing trip planned that was scrubbed due to wind and waves and surf. Bummer.

So, we brought him here so he could at least do some fishing and hopefully catch something!

It's easy to roll up and rent a fishing pole and buy some bait which you do on the left side shop right before the pay booth for the pier. Once you do that - you pay to go through. I might be off on the pricing but it's around $15-20 to rent a fishing pole and get bait - then something like $13 to fish for the day and $4 for an observer (no fishing).

Once you're on the other side there is a small snack bar serving burgers, fries and hot dogs and two bathrooms on the right. Then, the pier.

There are tons of benches lining both sides and it goes out pretty far actually. Even crowded as it was the day we were there, we easily found a spot to fish further down.

I recommend you bring a folding chair and cooler with you if you plan to be here for a while - while there are a lot of benches - it wasn't enough for everyone. And you'll want somewhere to put your fish if you catch them (duh).

There is a "station" of three areas to clean your caught fish about 1/3 way down the pier open to anyone and most people were amiable and friendly and willing to share their space to allow you to scrunch in.

All in all - a fun day and a fun trip. But I wouldn't pay to watch too often bc after about 30 minutes I'm ready to go. lol.

Let me just start with this pier is shit.coming from someone who fishes this pier very often I can say this pier is terrible.first the owner David does not care about his customers or employees at all and treats them very rudely and disrespectfully.secondly the owner only cares about making as much money as possible with putting as little work in.for example they have done zero repairs or maintenance to this pier, and honestly it scares me being out there sometime because the pier will move and shake because they have not replaced half of the pylons.third this pier only focuses on tourists, not locals they treat all of the locals like shit an make them deal with stupid rule.for example they have try to take season passes because people use them to much even though they are meant for people too use during the whole season.in my opinion I would say stay away form here your better off fishing the beach then dealing with this place.

Went last year and was only charged three dollars spectator's and now it's 4. It's going up every year - Just to be a spectator.
I do like the option of being able to rent a fishing pole. I do like going to the pier but not paying everyday to be a fishing spectator.

Love this fishing pier! It has been here forever! The views are incredible and everyone just leaves you to do your thing whether it is fishing, taking pictures, or daydreaming.

This pier needs some work, as it's pretty old, and in need of a lot of wood replaced; it's looking pretty weathered over the years. They do charge a couple of dollars to go on the pier, and it's not worth it. It's best to stay in the beach and boardwalk; which is really nice.

This is a great little tourist trap on the center of the beach. I didn't like the fact that you have to pay to go out on the pier. I ate at the restaurant, but I refuse to pay to walk to the end of a pier that has so many people fishing, not socially distancing, and not wearing mask. I honestly didn't feel very comfortable with all of the people who refused to wear a mask on the pier.
