This is my go to place. Why well? 1st I live just down the street.
It offers a nice bike path that will take you to Hamilton and beyond.
You can also walk, relax and chill out.
Nice parking since there are ball fields.
I like to jet off the path just past the wooded area about 1.3 miles into the route.
It will take you to a walkway to the river. Nice peaceful and such a nice sound of the river flowing.
Usually not too crowded. Just keep to the right all the times.
Please do enjoy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 18, 2017
A little remote and from my end unknown bike/ walking trail of about 20 miles round trip. This trail begins at the ballfields but continues through treed areas and along a dammed waterway. Along the way is another parking area where you can bring your kayak to put in and travel 3+ miles up and down a hibiscus laden stream. You'll be visited by at least one blue heron along the way. If you travel up as far as the dam, be careful not to be sucked under the wall ( just kidding) but the current is fun to play in. The current can be inconsistent because one day it was difficult to paddle toward the dam and another day we paddled up and down the stream from the put in.

I can't necessarily speak to the ballfields (which all look impecible) or the consession stand (which looks nice and well kept), or the playground (which looks wicked fun!) All I can offer is my opinion of the parking lots and the trailhead.
The parking lot is more than adequate for use when baseball is not in session. I could see it getting hairy with that many fields and not a very big set of lots, but I've never been when it's busy so just a head up.
As for the trail; this is the end/starting point for a super long (all the way to Dayton) paved multi-use trail along the Great Miami river. The start of the trail is next to a statue and landmark of the legendary Joe Nuxhall. It is recently marked every 1/2mi by a sign post giving you distances to locations like the dam in Hamilton and other facilities. It wanders through fields and light woods and along ballfields. The trail then tends to follow the road and river and is not as pretty but it is an easy ride/run. There are small gradual hills every once in a while but in general the trail is flat. I'm guessing if the river is high, there are major sections under water, but I don't know that for sure.
Overall, nice looking, well maintained, seemingly safe park that I use all the time as my base when I am running in Fairfield!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
