honestly the food wasn't bad, but on the pricer end. wish the hk pan fried noodle had more sauce, and the wontons in chilli oil were more in a chilli sauce. shrimp was pretty fresh tho

First time I went to this place I was drunk out of my mind. Went for a late night snack to sober up. I swear I don't remember much of the night BUT let me tell you I remember the honey walnut prawns!!!
Everything I had was good, but I couldn't get the taste of the prawns off my mind. For weeks I've been craving them and wondering if they were really as good as I remember, or if I was just really drunk. So last night my boyfriend and I drove back to the city to for these damn honey walnut prawns. And I can confirm, THEY ARE THE BEST FREAKING HONEY WALNUT PRAWNS IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE.
Ordering is through your phone, super easy. Service is also quick. If you're even on Polk street and need some eats I recommend stopping by Wen's Kitchen for sure!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Yasmin A.Vacaville, CASep 16, 2024
Food was good. Kinda pricey. Service is above average. Place is cool actually but you could here the thumping from the club next door

So it's 11:50pm I'm pregnant and craving Chinese really bad. I called this location to place a pick up. 1st call attempt I asked to place an order for pickup she told me to order online, when I said I don't know how to you don't have a website she insisted doordash I responded and said I don't know how to use that so she told me call back 10 mins then hung up on my face.
I called back within 10 mins asking asking to place order for take out, she began taking my order ( which I only order 3 things ( fried rice, beef broccoli and salt pepper prawns) mid order, she stops to tell me it's over $50 and she can't take my order because "people who call and place orders like this never pick it up/ pay so I need to order online and have it delivered" I said I don't have online service that's why calling to place order in advance I'll pay when I arrive to pick it up. She then told me she needs my credit card info and to bring in my id . I was so confused. what sense would that make ? you just told me I couldn't order over the phone then proceed to tell me you need my credit card and Id to purchase.
I kindly refuse service told her I did not feel comfortable providing my credit card info over the phone and disregard the order have a great night I'll just leave a review.
That's wild I'm not gonna order in DoorDash when DoorDash is overpriced when I can simple call order and pick it up myself. I didn't want to wait at the restaurant because I'm pregnant I just want pay, grab and go.
Wouldn't recommend calling to orderHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Graham B.San Francisco, CA25100Jun 27, 2024
Surprisingly bad. Ate here twice in a week because I hoped the first awful experience was just a fluke. 30+ minute wait for a take-out order for absolute garbage noodles that were worse than microwave noodles from a local bodega. $20 for food that tasted like sand/dirt when I could eat "top ramen" for $2. Staff was polite but incompetent. The other folks waiting in line behind me just left after not being served. Ate a few bites, then tossed the order into the trash and bought dinner from the restaurant next door.

Wow, I love the food here. I order from Wen's at least 5 times a month (minimum) love the fried rice and sweet and sour chicken and Mongolian beef and chicken . Oh and the green beans but like everything so good and fresh. I highly recommend. The owners are very nice. Talk to them, hugs Wendy

First time visiting this restaurant & it was an amazing experience. The food was 10 out of 10 along with the service. I ordered beef chow fun, honey walnut, prawns, Mongolian beef, with steamed rice. The fried chicken was amazing. Crispiest chicken I've ever had!
I most definitely will recommend this to anyone that's in the city, even if they're not in the city.Helpful 1Thanks 2Love this 0Oh no 0 - Emily L.Berkeley, CA98535152Mar 1, 2023
Friendly family-run business. I'll definitely come back.
Food/drink: Many familiar chinese staples & szechuan specialties. Spice level was perfect for my group but I would've preferred more heat in some dishes. (I typically prefer more spicy than the average person). Loved the vegetarian options.
Interior: Lots of space & natural light.
Occasion: Super versatile - Good for pre or post-night out, they have their liquor license. I prefer going during slower periods (weekends/daytime) for more relaxing meals.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 5Oh no 0Business owner information
