I usually don't shop here, only when I need something specific.
The associate asked me to yelp them, so I here I am! Like many yelpers have mentioned, this location is not so customer service-y. Sometimes the associates will greet you and most times they will not look at you/want nothing to do with you until you're ready to pay.
Clothes? I suggest previewing the product online before making a trip. Try things on before purchasing because you can only exchange or get merchandise credit back within 21 days of purchase with your receipt. Oh, and make sure you keep your receipt.. because they will throw attitude at you. Haha.
Forever 21 is not too far away, you're better off over there, just saying.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Greezi Q.San Francisco Bay Area, CA10212Aug 16, 2012
Worst customer service EVER! What is up with this place???
I went in today to buy some jeggings. The Philipino girl was NO help whatsoever. I asked her where the jeggings were and she pointed me to skinny jeans. I found the jeggings on my own! Then I ask her if there are any other colors and she says no, just the white and blue that I had found and the khaki she pointed out. Guess what? I found black jeggings. When I went to the fitting room she gave major attitude about it, like it was a difficult task for her to open the door.
I had to help myself and it only took me 35 minutes to find what I wanted instead of a competent customer service rep to help me in 5 minutes. When I went up to pay, a guy was working on the store schedule. He didn't ring me up, instead I waited for a few minutes for that rude little troll to come help me. What is the deal here? Is she miserable working retail? Making minimum wage? Or is she just a rude troll? Probably all three. It really sucks when a customer walks into the store with zero attitude, just looking to buy some jeggings, having a good day and BAM! You go into Wet Seal and a troll makes you search an entire store yourself for 35 minutes.
I came in today, August 16th at 10am - That should give the failing management an idea of that complete lack of customer service and politeness. What topped it all off was she asked me if I wanted to get the Wet Seal "discount" card, pay $16-20 and that card will last a year. Girl, I don't think I'll ever walk into that damn store again, not at Newpark.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Vy P.Fremont, CA1106265Oct 1, 2009First to Review
I'm in a process of filing a complaint with the regional manager of Wet Seal. My aunt who doesn't speak much English stopped by here earlier this week with her two daughters (3 yr old and a one year kid). The toddler accidently knock some stuff over and my aunt was forced to stay back 1.5 hours to clean their entire store. After calling Wet Seal the following day, I was told by the store manager the child was "out of control" and that the 3 year old managed to put a mess through their entire "500 items" around the store. NONSENSE! I was also told by this woman that she has "children of my own waiting for me at home so SOMEONE has to clean up the mess". This is an act of discrimination and I'm not going to give up without a fight. DO NOT SHOP HERE!

I called exactly five times today and letting the phone ring for about 20 seconds each and no freaking respond. I needed to know for sure if I can return something for merchandise credit since I lost my receipt but the item still had the tag on it, but I couldn't get a hold of them. Customer service is a total FAILED here inside the store and out with rude workers and unhelpful.

Ive been in this store several times and ive have horrible customer service everytime. Several of the employees were very rude and looked unhappy to be working. When I went up to purchase my items one of the workers asked me if i wanted to sign up for their rewards card. I said sure, and when she completed my transaction i noticed that my total was way more than i expected. Turns out that you have to pay for their rewards card which the employee lacked to inform me on. I said i didnt want it because it was $20 and she gave me attitude because she had to go back and take it off. This location needs better and happier employees.

I ordered a few things on wetseal.com because some people mentioned that their pants are longer than most teen fashion. Wet Seal online site is very nicely done. I confirmed that with their online pictures of their models. It's nice they state the height of models, so shoppers get a clear picture of how long the pants are. I wish all online retailers can do the same. However, I had to return a few things to the store. Since they only allow exchange, I bought a few things with the exchange credit at the Newark Wet Seal store.
The store was tidy and well organized. Nothing fancy. The young lady (Indian?) who helped me with the exchange was very helpful and kind. She told me what's on promotion, and where to find things. It did take me a while to find what suit me, maybe because I'm older than their target audiences. During check out, it appeared the store system did not make the exchange process easy. However, she did the check out efficiently without delay.
I usually do all my shopping online. But I think I will come back to this store again, only because that young Indian lady made the shopping/exchange experience a very pleasant one.
FYI One thing I learnt from this purchase is that all Wet Seal accessaries are final sale. When I first heard that, I was not aware. But even necklace, belt, bags, etc are all final sales. BTW Their average pants are indeed longer than most teen fashion. But I think I'll get the Tall/Long next time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lina H.Keyes, CA692721823May 3, 2013
I had not checked out this location for quite a long time but in my quest to find a pair of high-waist shorts I decided to come in and even though I didn't find the shorts I wanted I did find a lot of cute strapless tops and colorful summer shorts. I was interested in a tubetop that they had up high and I normally look for their metal thingymagiggie to unhook the top but they must have lost quite a few because that thingymagiggie was NOWHERE to be found! So I had to go and get help from one of the girls working there. all three girls were busy busy bees unboxing all the summer stuff and putting it out for display but the girl that I went to was more then happy to help me with a great big smile and even complimented me on my nails (hey I'm a girl and vanity is way up on my totem pole) So anyhow, I will definitely come back to check out what else they unveiled on those boxes, I just couldn't wait to see it all that day. Thank you girls!

i love wetseal! i love the clothes (well some) i went in looking for jeans, first of all no one greeted or welcomed me in, but it was no biggy i can live with that all i wanted wanted to do was shop. whait pissed me off was that i wanted to try on the jeans i could of potentioally purchased! but the two girls were slacking at first i kept making eye contact with her so i wouldnt be rude and waive her down (mind you i was close to the fitting room just standing, so it was obvious i wanted to try something on) but no that didnt happen, so i walked over to her and the girl she was talking to, i tell her (politely) if anyone was at the fitting room, she responds with i will be there in a minute AND GETS BACK TO HER CONVERSATION! HER CONVERSATION WAS EVEN WORK RELATED!!! SO I JUST LEFT MY CLOTHES IN A RANDOM VISIBLE SPOT AND WALKED OUT. i ended up spending $200 that day, they lost a sale.
