ZAYRA PADILLA CISNEROS worst secretary, very rude, not good with kids, and just over all feels like she's above everyone. Her ego isn't good for the job she has! disgusting

Lisa Camera - Worst english teacher. Do not pick her for your class. She's passive aggressive and power trips. She doesn't really care about your success, it's about her getting her way. Not a real world role model. English teachers if you're reading this, don't be like her

We love Woodside High School!! The administration is top notch and the teachers are fabulous. We also appreciate all the scholar athletes and watching sports. Go Wildcats!
The drama department puts on wonderful plays. So many talented actors and actresses as well as musicians.
The new facilities support STEAM programs and stimulate creative learning.
The foundation fills the gaps left by state underfunding. Time to close the corporate loophole in prop 13!! Time to raise teachers salaries and provide them with affordable housing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jason S.Boise, ID233117325272Oct 30, 2019
Probably one of the cleanest and nicest high schools I have been to. I am only judging on the football field and parking lot plus the bathrooms. All of these were perfect. As a Tesla owner I did appreciate the charging stations which were super convenient seeing that we drove in from NorCal. So we took advantage of that and fully charged our car while we were her for a soccer tournament.

I already posted a review about WHS in which I very clearly stated how this school is ageist and doesn't listen to their students at times because "they are the adults." An example could be when the vice principal told me not to speak and I wasn't allowed to "because I was a student at Woodside". Strangely my comment disappeared. I am still a student here and will refuse to have my comments disregarded and be mistreated.

I have a senior and a freshman--both very different kinds of students. Woodside is like a hidden gem! So many people in the area send their kids to private--too bad they're missing out on such a warm and nurturing educational environment where kids can really get a feel for the real world.
My older son has taken every kind of class--even APs with support and success! Yes, along with a majority of students he'll be going off to a four year college! I believe the experiences at Woodside have prepared him well!
My younger son, a Freshman, is delighted to be with all kinds of students! He loves his teachers and all his classes!
Oh, and I have to mention, Woodside has the most AMAZING guidance department! Because let's face it, something always comes up! These people help--they work hard to guide your kids (and moms like me!) with creativity and patience!
Yeah, if you have a choice of where to send your kids to HS, check out this little diamond! You'll be surprised at all the unique programs they offer, the small class sizes and how your kids REALLY feel welcomed!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aaa X.Menlo Park, CA140Aug 17, 2018
I attended Woodside for my freshman and sophomore years. Luckily, there was an amazing program that allows you to attend college while still completing your high school requirements that I was able to get into. I genuinely enjoyed my junior and senior year there because I was treated like an adult. I had several bad experiences over the course of my first two years of high school. I will admit that there are several great teachers, but there are also many under qualified teachers as well.
My freshman year was decent. By that, I mean they were not bad teachers. Sophomore year was a nightmare; I was going through personal issues and I became very unmotivated. None of my teachers seemed to care as my grades dropped, even though I had always been an A student.
My English teacher loved to power trip and make others feel bad. There was construction on my street and I was three minutes late to class (before that I went to the office to make sure I had a late pass and I was told I would be fine and to go straight to class). When I appeared in class with a completed essay I had worked hard on, I was told that 5% of my grade would be taken off. Instead I received 10 points off a 100 point assignment, causing my assignment to be docked off by 10%, thus proving my teacher's math skills as questionable. I tried to explain my situation and the teacher would not budge.
I had a chemistry teacher that did not know how to teach. She was a nice enough person, but every student I talked to agreed that they could not understand how she taught. Most of the students with As had to teach themselves at home off of the internet. I felt as if I was not given the resources to succeed. Later on through the year, I felt this teacher had a certain grudge against me, which I think is because I asked a lot of questions due to my lack of understanding her teachings. During our periodical notebook checks I would frequently ask her to explain why I was always losing points. After confronting her, she would always dock off points due to reasons that were not intended to be graded on in the first place. I would improve with notebook check, only to find that she would find problems still within new, made up errors and even previous, corrected ones. At some point, she deducted points for folding papers in my notebook instead of having them flat, even though it was taped in where it was supposed to go and the table of contents was up to date. Other students would do the same thing, only not to get 100% on my notebook check.
In my math class, I got an A first semester, but ended up getting an F second semester due to personal issues I mentioned before. I later took an online summer school class to make up my credits and earned an A.
I did volunteer work and left for 5 days with a program called Outdoor Ed. The program consists of taking care of above 15 third graders all day and night, as you sleep in the cabin with them. When I got back, I asked about service hours and was told I could not gain over 96 hours worth of community service, which increases your chances of getting into college. I was informed very rudely that since I did not grab a community service packet before hand, which I was unaware of, I would not be rewarded with any hours of community service.
I have also had many other experiences but I will leave you with that. I am a very independent person and I felt so much more appreciated in the college class program because I was treated like an adult instead of having to obey rules from power tripping teachers.
(shout out to the lady Vice Principal's assistant.. she always helped me out without belittling me!)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Natalie M.Redwood City, CA0190Nov 11, 2016
poor excuse for a "school" ..
DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE.
i was a student - class of 2011, and during my 5 years, i had a few bad experiences.
situation #1:
in P.e. class, i was choked by another boy. I visibly had RED hand marks on my neck. at the same time, two Mexican girls stood there alongside with me, and did nothing. (one of them named ALEXANDRA) .
struggling to breath, i went to the p.e. teacher: MR. MILINASKI, MR. MILIASKI (dont remember) to address the situation. He was a tall white man, sunburnt skin, not quite strict.
ALL HE SAID TO ME WAS, STAY AWAY FROM HIM. that did no justice. i had pain and pressure in my neck that ran along towards my head which means i was choked by this boy pretty hard.
it all took place in the gym so i left to address the situation to the principal. he did NOTHING and he did not care. which leads me to situation #2:
the principal at the time, which i believe (had something against me).
i was accused of stealing a phone because i didnt memorize my newly changed cellphone # at the time. i was caught up in school and other things so i didnt memorize my phone # by heart. he refused to give me back my phone after about 2 hours of interrogation even though he did see a picture of me as my wallpaper, he still didnt believe me.
this "principal" was a tall white man, white skin, big crooked nose with hazel'ish (either green or blue) colored eyes. to my knowledge, he no longer works there after a couple years.
looking back at it now i should've let my mom handle it with the court for the 1st issue. but since i knew it was eventually gonna become a big thing, i didnt let her.
the next day people started to gossip but i just wanted to let it all die down.
Suggestion to all parents: this is a crooked school- know whats best for your child.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Sarida P.Redwood City, CA010Apr 24, 2013
Having taken 8 AP classes, my daughter unquestionably worked hard over the past years. Throughout her education at she has had unfailing support from quality, and highly dedicated teachers who consistently make themselves availabe to their students. The atmosphere of the schoool is one where students are able to find a niche, as there are diverse groups and interests that are part of Woodside's fabric. This contributes to its strenghs, and the plethora of opportunities at this school, on academic, social, and extracurricular fronts.
Having come from a small, private school, my daughter has grown tremendoulsy at WHS. In addition to delivering quality academics, it has conributed to her confidence and maturity exponentially.
Soon to graduate, my daughter and many of her friends have had a myriad of top college acceptances from which to choose, and the education, support, and "life-learning" she has received at this school have paved the way. A great colege and career counseling office, a dedicated , approachable principal , and the "student-centered" committment that permeates this school are some additional assets.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Michele K.Portola Valley, CA1070Jan 26, 2016
Great Principal and a few good teachers, but overall an unmotivated student body and not a very inspiring place to say the least. Expectations are low so If you have an underachiever for a student, probably not the best place to go, as he or she will be able to fly under the radar for 4 years.
