We purchased two vehicles from the South location, after driving one of them off the lot I got about 10 minutes away and it overheated and all these bells were going off, I pulled into Carson's Nursery and parked it when they opened I called explained what happened they

sent a wrecker to get it, I told them at that time I did not feel safe with that vehicle what if it was a blown head gasket or something they said no it's not that let us get it and fix it so we agreed turns out it was a blown head gasket told them I did not want it let me trade for something else, and Steve said no so I went ahead and kept it then I had a puddle of oil in my driveway called them they come got it said they fixed it wanted to charge my 258 then another few days went by more oil I told them to come get it I'm done, they wanted me to bring it to them I never did they finally sent someone to get it, now they have it back on there lot for sale do not buy the 2011 red chevy Cruze, we also let them have our truck back it's the 2002 ford f150 steering wheel feels very weird, they do not put enough gas in these vehicles to be able to take them very far, I also called wanting to speak to the owner hes a big chicken and will never talk to the customers, best advise DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM AUTO BY RENT

Our main vehicle broke down in December, so we bought a vehicle from auto by rent. The vehicle leaked oil but was under a 30 day warranty. We sent the vehicle to be repaired and they had it for over a week and a half and finally said it

was fixed. The vehicle still leaked oil when I came back but the sales manager Lynn said we were past our 30 days and we would have to pay for any repairs. I explained how the vehicle leaked oil from day one. Lynn explained that they could get it fixed by their shop but I would have to pay for it. I then agreed and ask if they can get us in a vehicle to use while it was in the shop as we have 10 kids. No call back. I have called every week and asked what they were going to do to resolve the problem that we have had since day one. No call back. When I go into make the payment I explained that we need to come to some kind of arrangement every month and Lynn would tell me that he would call me back and let me know how we would get this resolved. No call back ever. In February I called the owner of the business and explain the situation to him and ask how we could get this resolved. The owner was disrespectful rude degrading and mean from the beginning. When I told him that we would need to get an attorney involved he told me that since I mentioned an attorney there was no way he was going to work with me. I have continued to make my payment on time every month but still call every week and asked every time I make a payment what they are going to do to resolve this. We serve the community of Springfield fostering 10 children with disabilities and elevated behaviors. If they treat a family with a mission in this manner only imagine how they are going to treat you As a customer. We are not going to give up until the issue is resolved and unfortunately this morning I had to take away from the 10 kids that I care for and paid an attorney to resolve the issue for us. We have offered multiple times that we would be open but we just needed to get the issue resolved. Today the sales manager called and said too much time has gone by and they are unwilling to do anything for us. Even though we have called every week and I brought it up every month when we made our payment on time. We are here to advocate for customers that have not been treated fairly by this organization. We will not allow Auto by rent to take Advantage of law abiding citizen. Now our family who is paid $.75 an hour to take care of kids in care will have to let a judge decide how this should be handled. If you purchased from auto by rent, documet everything. I am ashamed that this company is able to do business in our community. I would hate for anyone else to experience what we have three auto by rent. Buyer beware!

I have been looking for a pickup truck for sometime, and since my credit status is not too good I logged on to Auto by Rent in Springfield, MO. I saw the truck I wanted and talked to one of the salespeople who told me that with a $2000.00

down payment I could have the truck along with payments of about $90.00 a week. I didn't care about the money, I just wanted the truck. This all took place on 5/3/2012. My down payment along with the $90 weekly payment would have come to over $10,000.00. That still didn't bother me, so I gave Auto by Rent $2000, and after filling out all the paperwork, I was accepted as a buyer. One of the things they ask is if I could come up with 6 references. No problem. I gave them 6 references. Since the truck was still at their Marshfield lot they would have to drive it to the south Spring- field lot. Well, as it turns out, the truck needed some minor repairs and their mechanic to do that had just broken his wrist, and it might take a while to get it fixed. Stall number 1. Number 2, I called on 5/7 and was told the truck needed a part and that part wouldn't be in until sometime Monday night. It couldn't be fixed until Tuesday morning then, the salesperson was going to drive to my home and take me down to sign the paperwork and pick up the truck on Tuesday. The truck was still in Marshfield.! During this time, just for the hell of it, I looked up the Blue Book price on this type of truck, That value was just over $5,000.00 I figured that would give them a little over $10,000.00. I mentioned to the person that they were making a lot of money on this deal, and was told it was mostly for finance charges. I don't mind finance charges, but $5,000? It turns out the 6 references I gave them were not all local; some were in California where some of my references are. They asked me if I could come up with 2 more local references and I told them I didn't know anyone around here other than my landlord and another person, whom I've known for about 4 years. They then told me I couldn't have the truck until I came up with 2 more people. I finally told them to send me my $2,000 back along with the insurance premium that I had to have to get the truck off the lot. Now it is 5/10 and still I haven't gotten my money back, and was told if they gave it back to me right now, somehow it would overdraw their account. I'm still waiting for the money! This company advertises on TV, along with other places. It seems to me that this company is scamming people to buy their product, and then they don't produce the goods. In my book, this company doesn't deserve any of those stars, unless they're in the minus 10 star column! I don't know what can be done, but at least I got this off my chest.
