Alicia’s 4-star review:
We just spent our honeymoon in Moab and stayed at the Red Cliffs Lodge for our entire stay. The property is absolutely gorgeous. We stayed in a standard River King Mini Suite, which has a king size bed, flat screen tv, small fridge, microwave, kitchen sink, and a beautiful patio overlooking the Colorado River. When we originally booked, the hotel was booked so we would have had to switch rooms halfway through the trip into a more expensive King Cabin. The day before we were supposed to switch, I called the front desk and the woman who answered was amazingly helpful and moved some reservations around so we could stay in our room. The movie museum on the property is pretty corny, but worth checking out if you're driving by or staying at the hotel. Probably not worth a seperate trip from town, though. The hotel is about 15 minutes from town down a windy, beautiful road following the Colorado River. It's a tough drive when you're tired and if you drive it at night, the lights from the Canyonlands By Night truck is absolutely blinding. Based on the reviews, we did not try the restaurant at the hotel. The pool was amazing. We swam here every night when we got home and some mornings before we left for the day. At night, the bats swoop overhead, skimming the water for dinner. It was a little startling at first, but you get used to it. There is also a hot tub, which is small, but nice. With the exception of the woman who helped us with the room switch, the staff was pretty underwhelming. Not one was especially polite or seemed very happy. They weren't rude, just kind of indifferent. I would say that was the only black mark on an otherwise wonderful stay.
