Easy and delicious cherry/lime/mint mixture poured with lemon-lime soda makes a yummy homemade soda! Plus you could win $300!
It is well-known in my family that I am NOT a water drinker. In fact, I have to force myself to drink water most days.
The only exception is when I’m killing myself on the treadmill and will die without water intake. Then it’s sort of a necessity. 😉 But just chilling around the house? Probably not gonna happen.
My problem is that I really, really love me a good soda.
Cold, bubbly, carbonated beverage. Yum. I don’t drink that much of it, but I do love it!
Do you ever go to Sonic Drive-thru? We have one on every street corner where I grew up, but not one single one where I live now. (SO sad!) Sometimes I crave a Sonic Cherry Limeade so badly, it hurts.
This homemade soda isn’t a classic Cherry Limeade, but more of a grown-up version using real fruit with the added twist of mint.
There’s something exhilarating about creating a fun, new drink. I love it! Especially when it comes out so pretty, with all that cherry red!
Plus it’s nice to know that even though I’m not drinking water, I am getting a serving of fruit with each glass, right?! And no added sugar…
Seriously, who needs water when you can drink these homemade cherry sodas, anyway?! They’re a fun drink to serve up with your next BBQ!

I’m the absolute opposite — I drink water all day and don’t typically care for soda. This homemade version with cherries, fresh lime, and agave would make me change my mind — it looks delicious! My oldest son loves soda, so he would really love this!
I just so happen to have some fresh cherries in the fridge that I know what to do with! Looks great!
I just adore you, Nancy! Thanks for trying this out today, you rock!! xo!
I mostly drink water, but I do love a good soda. That carbonation is so good. I love this recipe. Pinning!
Thanks for the pin, Cindy!! Hope your week is off to a good start!
YUM!!! Love cherry season and sonic so basically this drink rocks! Plus major bonus that it is perfectly refreshing for the hot texas summer!
Do you have Sonic in Texas, Krista?? I miss it so much! If you do, I’m coming to visit you and your sweet little dude and we can drink Sonic’s every day! 😉 Hope you’re well! xo!
Just looking at this is making me super thirsty! I’m craving a refreshing and tasty drink like this!
Thanks Jeni!!
Goodness, this is making me thirsty, Jen! I love that it’s a grown-up version with fresh cherries, just so perfect for summertime. And I am just like you with the water drinking! I can down a ton of water when I’m running or exercising, but other than that… yeah, I have to make a real conscious effort!
Yum!! This looks so refreshing, so perfect for summer!
Thanks Annie!! It really is the perfect summertime drink!
I live in Texas, and we have Sonic everywhere. I just got back from San Diego, and saw my first ever Sonic there along IH 15 about halfway to Rancho Bernardo on an access road on the east side. I hope you are close to there. This recipe sounds wonderful, and I keep cherries in the freezer all year.
There are no Sonic’s around me and I’m so sad! I’m from Arizona and there are Sonic’s all over the place there so I get my fill every. single. day. when I’m in town there. 😉 Thanks for your sweet comment! xo!
