BMW iX facelift breaks cover globally

Gets minor changes design-wise, and some new colour options
Offers a maximum claimed range of up to 701 km
Gets powerful dual motors, producing up to 659 PS and over 1000 Nm of torque!
The BMW iX is already a very desirable and capable luxury EV with pretty impressive specifications. Globally, BMW has now unveiled the facelifted iteration of the iX with even more range and powerful electric motors. It is available in three variants: xDrive45, xDrive60 and M70 xDrive.
In India, we currently get the xDrive40 and xDrive 50 and we suspect that the xDrive45 and xDrive60 will replace the ones currently available. With luxury carmakers introducing top-spec performance variants in India, chances are that the new M70 xDrive will also be introduced.
Here’s a closer look at the iX facelift:
There have been some changes to the fascia of the iX. It now gets more vertical elements, including the vertical LED DRLs and air dams. The familiar kidney grille has been retained and even gets the illumination function as seen on other new BMWs.
You get striking 22-inch alloy wheels and premium-looking flush door handles. The window starts tapering upwards as you move towards the rear. The rear end features sleek LED tail lights and blacked-out elements in the lower section of the bumper for a sporty contrast.
It now also gets an M Sport Package, for a sportier and more athletic look. It gets some new colour options as well including Arctic Race Blue metallic, Dune Grey metallic, Carbon Black metallic, BMW Individual Frozen Deep Grey metallic, BMW Individual Frozen Pure Grey metallic, Tanzanite Blue metallic and Space Silver metallic (to be introduced later).
The cabin feels top-notch, to say the least, and comes with everything that you could expect from a BMW that is priced upwards of Rs 1 crore! The cabin has a premium and minimalist feel to it with dual displays dominating the dashboard. The overall design and layout of the dash remain unchanged. The infotainment unit runs on the latest Operating System 8.5. You can also opt for the new M Sport package which comprises new M multifunction seats, M leather steering wheel, M logos, dark silver finishes, M pedals and a gloss black finish on the centre console.
Top features include adaptive LED headlights, comfort access, heated seats for driver and front passenger, heated steering wheel, and the Harman Kardon surround sound system.
Optional features include a panoramic glass roof, automatic soft-close function for the doors, active seat ventilation, and the Bowers and Wilkins Diamond surround sound system.

The iX supports up to 195 kW of DC fast charging and 22 kW of AC charging. It has a fast charging time of around 35 mins (10 to 80 percent).
The iX facelift is expected to carry a slight premium over the current model which is priced from Rs 1.21 crore to Rs 1.4 crore (ex-showroom). It will rival the likes of the Mercedes-Benz EQE, as well as the EQS SUV and Audi Q8 e-tron.
If BMW doesn’t increase the price of the facelift by a lot, then it will actually make for a very well-packaged electric car. It is expected to be launched in India by August 2025. What do you think about the facelifted iX? Let us know in the comments section.
