Requirements:
A bachelor's degree (or equivalent certificate) in Art, Graphic Design, Game Design, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years experience in a 3d Environment Artist role within a game studio
Experience that includes, but is not limited to, workflows for high and low poly modeling, texture painting, PBR material setup, mapping techniques, UV layout, tools, lighting, and optimizations.

MOB Entertainment is looking for a talented Senior Gameplay Animator to collaborate with a team of other Animators, Storyboard Artists, Technical Artists and Programmers to tell a story and help us continue to push the limits of character animation for our upcoming titles.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Assist a team of animators in the development of high quality in-game animations and cinematics.
Reference storyboards if provided.
Develop excellent visual frames and strong poses that represent the characters and serve the game's design goals.
Present work to the team, seek input, and incorporate feedback from leads and teammates.
Commit to deliverables and manage your goals within regular milestones and deadlines, while maintaining the appropriate style over the course of a project.
Continually refine processes for animation throughout production to increase productivity for the animation team.
Animate a diverse range of compelling, alluring, and fear inducing creatures/characters that support unique and dynamic gameplay.
WHAT YOU NEED:
5 or more years with Autodesk Maya
5 or more years in Unreal Engine 5 (clear understanding of Blueprints, State machines and Level Sequences)
Ability to animate in a variety of animation styles and disciplines- (including cinematics, performance-based ranging from realistic to cartoony, gameplay and prop)
Ability to pivot at any point in time during production
Body mechanic mastery
Work with shooting reference
Expertise in the principles of animation
Expertise to animate both characters and creatures (biped and quadruped)
Self-motivated, unshakable strong work ethic, an excellent team player
Ability to communicate with peers and other disciplines, mentor junior and mid animators
An effective communicator, well organized and punctual
Understanding of JIRA and Confluence
Meets all deadlines during sprints
Creativity in problem-solving and the ability to think outside of the established solutions
Work closely with Tech Animation to provide feedback for rigs
Work closely with the Team Lead to help plan, facilitate and promote growth within the animation team

As an
Animator, you'll be
animating a diverse range of compelling characters and creatures that support an engaging, dynamic, and satisfying gameplay experience. You'll be working with other artists, designers, and engineers to collaborate on creatively complex assignments to develop an inspiring creative vision,
animation style, and production pipeline for this new Blizzard game. Ultimately, you're combining inspiring art with great gameplay while actively communicating and thriving on a small team.
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA. However, we understand each person's circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore other possible options, including remote work arrangements.
This is roughly a 7-month temporary position.
What You Bring to the Table
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Partner with the
animation team to help develop a unique
animation style and visual direction for the project
Collaborate with designers, tech artists, and engineers to integrate the
animation assets into the engine, and identify and troubleshoot any technical issues that might arise
Partner with engineers and tech artists to help support and develop an effective
animation pipeline for prototyping and a rapid iteration mindset for game development
Minimum Requirements
Strong understanding of the principles of
animation and body mechanics.
Experience
animating characters and creatures in Maya (or equivalent 3D programs).
Experience with Unreal Engine
Strong understanding of human and creature anatomy and a keen eye toward creatively representing their movements in believable ways.
Experience with creating
animation blend trees; previous experience with node-based
animation editors.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $29.81 - $55.14 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations.
