Dry forests are found in a band across Africa from Senegal in the west, making a loop around the Congo basin, to Ethiopia in the east and South Africa in the south. Dry forests partly or fully cover Angola, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, DRC, Ethiopia, Gabon, Guinea, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Dry forests cover a spectrum of vegetation types from deciduous forests with a continuous tree canopy to moist savannas, dry deciduous woodlands, dry savannas and very dry scrub. Dry forest landscapes are very variable, with crop lands, grazing lands and woodlands existing side-by-side.
