      Believe it or not, I'd never been in a Fairway before moving to Stamford. I'm a fan of the layout and how things are organized, the sheer number of options, especially the bend towards healthier ones, and the coffee and deli sections.

      Let's not forget that there's a wine store attached :)

      Not a huge fan of Fairway but it's super close to where I live so it gets points for convenience. Prices at fairway are wayyyy higher than all other stores.

      When I first started shopping here, I thought it was because the quality of the products were better. However I soon learned that's not the case. I have had several instances where my produce goes back in 1-2 days after purchasing it. Many times the price tags are incorrectly placed in the aisles and the items ring up more at the counter. The check out lines are awful no matter what time of day you go. You are always waiting at least 5-10 min since there are only 2 lines open.

      Some things that stand out, particularly at this Fairway! They have a huge coffee area where you can grind the beans. Their cheese and olive oil selections is also bigger than most. They have a hot bar, sushi, pizza and sandwich area in the back if you're looking for a quick bite to eat. They also have picnic tables outside.

      Overall, not my first choice when it comes to grocery shopping, but if I need something in a pinch it's there!

      It's big - real big.
      That said, for whatever reason, you almost always *don't* find what you're looking for - go figure.
      Things to note
      * They don't have any organic butter
      * The cheese section is ... small
      * The baked goods are actually quite good (the scones are *huge*. and yummy)
      * The hot-table is not bad
      * Weirdly unfriendly checkout clerks

      I love this place and have been here several times! I'll definitely drive out of my way to come here. It's clean. They have a variety of options - they have lots of fresh produce and the staff is super helpful too.

      I'll be back again soon!

      Been going here since they opened in 2010. Live nearby so I'm there all the time. It's been terrible for years and continues to disappoint. They're just resting on convenient location. They constantly - constantly - advertise some promotional pricing for a product and then scan higher at checkout. Happens ALL the time, I'm convinced it's on purpose. Only occasionally do I bother to go to the black hole of customer service desk to correct, just not worth it over small change. And that's what they're counting on. What's worse, they don't give a sh#t about the produce they put out. It's hit or miss & they often just put out rotting produce. Disgusting. Avoid this place if you can. It is just terribly mismanaged.

      It baffles me how a store that puts a huge amount of care into the food, selection, and presentation cares so little about their checkout process. The powers that be who run the store, fail to realize that 40% - 50% of the shopping experience is the checkout process - a simple google search can show you that.

      Getting to the store ...

      No matter what time of day, or how many people are in the store, there is at least a 20 minute wait to check out. Never more than three registers open, each line is ten people deep, and twelve other registers closed.

      Rather than than just vent and complain, here's simple suggestions to radically improve the shopping experience, and ultimately, drive up profits ...

      - Self checkout.
      - Express "12 items or less" line.
      - Pay the extra $30 an hour and hire three more teenagers to work the checkout line.

      People view their time as valuable, and my trips to this store are going to be few and far between until they do something about the godawful checkout.

      Pro's:
      -Great coupons in the mail
      -Pretty big selection of...everything!
      -Good produce, meat, and seafood

      Con's:
      -Birds flying around?? Definitely makes me uneasy to have birds flying above the produce area.
      -ALWAYS long checkout lines. Don't come here if you're in a hurry. I've seen the cashiers be pretty mouthy with customers too, including scolding a person with 18 items being in the 15 and under check-out line.
      -Very few cart racks in the parking lot. EVERY time I have been there someone rests their cart against my car rather than returning it.

      I love this market!
      Food is fresh good service great hours
      Prices are also fair compared to other markets in the area
      My only problem with fairway market is it's really cold in there really!! You will have to be prepared to bring a heavy jacket other then that its awesome

      Spacious, delicious food especially the sea food and steak section.
      Poor customer service. Pls train you staffs to be nice and efficient.
      Had to return some bottles (Fairway brands only). The machine was not working so asked her if she can help me with it. She rolled her eyes and said rudely in a mocking tone" Can i help you with it?" So i asked her why did she rolled her eyes? Then she avoided eye contacts with me. Its very rude, she probably thinks i am professional garbage collectors or something? Also the cashiers are soooo slow? and no self check out booth? What is wrong with the management here.
