Q:
Are bikes allowed, or a path for one?
A:
Bikes are allowed on the concrete paths on the bottom level, and on the roads. It would be difficult to bring a bike on any other walking paths so most bikers keep them on the roads.

Love this park and it's hiking trails. One of the trails has fitness stations which provide a great workout. Plenty of bbq areas with grills and benches. If you want to have a gathering, they have a spot that you can reserve.
Bathrooms are very clean and orderly. Playground has been updated with newer equipment.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 21, 2023
This is my favorite park in the area, I absolutely love it. There are legitimate hiking trails, an exercise trail, several playgrounds, tennis courts, clean bathrooms and best of all, farm animals :). You can catch some wildlife as well. When I discovered it I was shocked I didn't find this gem sooner.

On an unseasonably warm February day (we realllyyy needed it) a visit to Holmdel Park was just what the doctor ordered.
I grew up visiting this park as a kid. I loved seeing the farm animals, playing on the playground and sledding down the big hill. I haven't been back in years, but I'm happy to report that the park is still just as lovely. The grounds are clean and extremely well-maintained and there is plenty of parking.
There are some farm animals to see which is always fun -- cows, horses, chickens, lambs and pigs. You can actually walk inside of the horse stable which is cool, and the horses are absolutely ginormous. I'm not sure if my daughter appreciated this just yet, but next year I'm sure she'll be really excited to see the animals.
The playground is pretty large with lots of different slides and swings. There are only two baby swings so we had to wait a bit. Once my daughter is walking she will also enjoy this way more -- so many things to play on, and so much space to run around. The park also has a large green space which is perfect for picnics / laying out. There is a frozen skating pond, and a large hill that is a super popular spot for sledding.
Overall it's a great place to spend a day outdoors. Looking forward to return visits with my girl when the weather warms up a bit!Helpful 27Thanks 0Love this 23Oh no 0Apr 12, 2017Previous reviewAbsolutely beautiful park! I've grown up going to Holmdel Park and have a ton of great memories here. Hikes in the summer, sledding in the winter, visiting animals at the petting zoo. The list goes on and on.
The property is expansive. There are lots of hiking trails and there are also large grassy areas where you can lay out and relax. There is also ample parking, lots of picnic benches and a clean bathroom. Although the park is usually buzzing with people (especially on a a nice day) there is still plenty of space to spread out.
Holmdel Park is an excellent place if you are looking for a tranquil place to relax or if you are in the mood for an adventure or physical activity. Highly suggest visiting if you are in the area and want to spend some quality time outdoors! - May 29, 2020
HOLMDEL: one of the most beautiful parks we have been to, Holmdel Park (part of the Monmouth County Park System) has scenic trails to walk your dog and get a good workout or just enjoy a leisurely stroll.
Joined by Zoey the Maltichon, we followed an easy and gorgeous trail around the pond. There is an arboretum along this path that we'll have to explore next time. Crossing over a wooden bridge is so much fun and seeing all the beautiful plants in bloom makes everything so nice.
Then we followed the path into the woods and picked up a couple of trails that eventually looped back around. It was really pleasant with easy to moderate difficulty and some grades.
Pets are not allowed at the Longstreet Farm.

Holmdel Park is a beautiful well-kept park and has more than 10 miles of trails. You can run or walk on the gravel or paved path or venture in the woods on the dirt path to go hiking and enjoy nature. The trails are well known to cross country runners. It's also a fun place to walk your dog and I met some dogs along the way and, of course, I had to take pictures of them. The Historic Longstreet Farm is from the late 19th century. I only saw two cows outside the barn while I was there. There's something to do here for everyone or you can relax and have a picnic. It's a fun way to spend the day with family and friends and perhaps learn some history along the way. Definitely will be coming back here. Fun Fact: The initial park land was established in 1962 and dedicated to the Citizens of Monmouth County in 1964.

Lovely park. Lots of people bring their dog here and there is a nice playground to bring your children. The lake is real pretty to take in. The trails are plentiful for walking or running. In fact, this park is very popular for cross country meets, especially "The Bowl", a steep incline in the park.
Longstreet Farms is also close by, which is also fun for those with children. The pavilions are shady and big for all occasions.
I would come here early because parking fills up rather quickly. Regardless whether you like Thompson Park or this one, this is a pleasant park to enjoy several hours at.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Tom P.Holmdel, NJ1213Jun 12, 2023
I have been going to this park since I was a kid. The Monmouth county parks system does an incredible job managering this and all their propertys. The Long street Farm is both educational and great fun for the kids. You can fish there, barbecue, great friendly staff, etc its just so highly recommended.

The working farm is amazing and we have been several times. The park is well maintained and it's a jewel in Monmouth county.

I love Holmdel Park, you can go for an educational trip of the 1800's farming experience or just go to walk your dog, you can go sledding in the winter, or have a picnic, you can rent the gazebo for a family reunion, you can walk the many trails, there is so much to do at this lovely park.
