    • Q:

If we rent them at 3 pm would we still get the full 4 hours?

      A:

No, they close at 5p.m. (Unless they have changed their store hours recently) and you must return them before 5.

    • Q:

Do you guys rent kayaks by the hour?

      A:

Aloha Andy, we rent kayaks by the half day (4-hours) or full day (8-hours). You can't really make it to any of the destinations and back in an hour. I would plan on a minimum of three hours to have an enjoyable trip to one of the islands.

Maggie did a great job as our tour guide for the kayak tour (2 hours)

She took lots of photos of us and made the whole day really special! I loved how organized and well thought out the tour was. The beach and island were awesome

We rented the kayaks and snorkeling gear. They have coolers and dry bags also included. The cart was handy to transport the kayak. Water small waves and not hard kayaking. So much fun and adventure.
I definitely recommend to anyone. We had two person kayaks and we had to drag them 50 yards across and at the end but with two people it was fine.
      Staff very friendly and helpful.

      1 check-in

Got kayaks there to do something fun on a cloudy day!
Good pricing (Dec 2024): 85$ for 4h for two-person kayak, or 99$ all day. 3$ per person to get permit for an island. 5$ to rent a dry bag.
One downside is that you need to roll your kayak to the beach (around 500m/1500ft/0.3m). It's on a cart, so it's not that bad. It's harder on a way back, because if you put cart too far, it would be heavier to roll.

But overall - great experience and I'm glad that we did it!

By far this was my favorite experience in Oahu. The beach is absolutely incredible. You have to take your kayak to the water from the store (maybe 10-15 minutes) but it's so worth it. They provide everything you need to get on the water including dry bag, snorkeling gear, lunch, lockers, and knowledge of the area. Go out to the islands, it's so worth the effort. Snorkeling is also amazing in this area. It rained during my trip but that didn't stop us from being able to be out in the water.

This review is for the store only. I went in looking for some gear after heading to Kailua completely unprepared for the day.

I arrived at this store looking like a sweaty mess and not the snack that I normally am. I needed, among other things, a sun shirt and some swim gear.

The team inside was completely professional and so helpful. They treated me like I was a million dollar customer inside of the disgusting mess I must have looked like. They patiently showed me all of options that they had available and helped me switch between products until I had selected a few options.

I couldn't be more impressed by the customer service and dedication that this team showed to treating me like a valued customer.

      I couldn't recommend them enough!

Had a really great day with Kailua Beach Adventures! Our guide Maggie did a really awesome job showing us around Flat Island. She knew a lot about the habitat and history of the land. The kayak over was pretty mild and relaxing despite windy conditions . Saw several sea turtles, crabs, birds, and snails on our trip. The provided lunch was also really good next door. We opted for the pizza . All in all, it was a wonderful day on the beach and I'd definitely recommend this tour company! Next time I come back I will try the more strenuous kayak to the Mokes!

I loved this tour. You do have to transport your kayak down to the beach on wheeled cart but it was fairly simple and just takes one person. We all helped each other out to get them in the water.
We were lucky to get a relatively calm day but it can be very windy which can cause it to be a tough kayak out. Since it was calm for us, we took it slow and it was actually very easy.
Upon landing, they served granola bars.
On the island, they walk you around explaining about the animals and vegetation. It was informative and interesting. There is a ride pool that you get to swim in.
They serve you lunch - sandwiches, chips, juice and cookies on the beach.
You then get 30 minutes to an hour to snorkel or relax. I didn't see many fish but we did see a turtle that just hung out by me eating. We also spotted several turtles on our kayak back which was lucky.
I really enjoyed the day. If you want to be a bit adventurous then I highly recommend them.
Shoot out to my guide Brandon who was phenomenal. All the staff at the shop was very friendly. You rent the kayaks yourself but I recommend the tour.
