Despite what Yelp says, this mall is still open (barely).

Wow!!! The last time I ever went to this mall was almost 15 years ago and my has it changed tremendously.

This mall is almost completely void of any stores.

As far as shopping, the only thing I would recommend going here for is to shop at the Dillard's Clearance Center (fantastic) and/or go to the Tinseltown Cinema.

But... if you can handle that this place is not climate controlled (it was a little muggy inside), and that it seems like ye old horror movie location then this is a great place to just walk around.

I can't explain it, but walking through a shell of a mall gives you a sense of bewilderment and a sense of curiosity. Plus it seems like at anytime you could run into a unsavory type person wandering the halls, but still feel comfortably safe (I saw young women walking alone with their children).

I probably wouldn't go here at night (unless to see a film), but overall it's an interesting place to just wander around in for a while.

Before we get into the bad, why don't we start with the Dillard's Clearance Center. Quite honestly, it is GLORIOUS. So are the prices. Unfortunately though, the store is closing at the end of July. I guess it's lucky that the Dillard's at Ridgmar Mall in Ft. Worth is a clearance center now too so I can just go there when the one here goes out. One thing I did notice though is that you cannot access the mall from Dillard's. Hmm, I thought. That doesn't seem promising. But maybe there's reasoning?
Well yeah, the reasoning is that the damn mall isn't even open at all, even though the website doesn't even indicate that it's closed. I mean, according to the mall's website, it fashions over 250 stores. Yeah, I call bs on that.

I know that the mall is called "plaza central" now and they're trying to fix it up and bring it back to life, but I'm pretty sure that they began with all of that in 2014 and it was open for buisiness as of today. As a buisiness owner with potential customers, if your mall isn't open, you need to somehow get the word out that your buisiness isn't open. Especially when you have a website? Unless they just don't bother to use or update their website anymore then I don't get why you wouldn't mention that you're closed. It's honestly not that hard to figure out. (I also tried to call the number listed on their website and the number was not in service). Seems to me that this mall has some sucky management. They've already had a bad rep for 10+ years and they're CLEARLY not helping themselves.

LOCK YOUR DOORS IF YOU'RE PLANNING ON COMING HERE.

Not only have I heard dozens and dozens of stories about cars getting broken into, I've also witnessed a few...its ridiculous! Its in what most people consider the "ghetto" area. Movies are really cheap in the morning though...so if you even go there at all, that should be your only reason. I swear there are only like, 3 stores open.

One time, I looked into the indoor fountain, and the water was still in there. Needless to say, it was green and disgusting.

      Good luck!

This place should be avoided at all costs... unless you are looking for vintage arcade machines and parts. Secret, inside the mall is the arcade... which of course you cannot access from the main entrances. Somehow, they have arranged to pay rent on the non climate controlled space, and enter and exit through the alley/load doors. There is a sign on the door... it says COINTECH. Enter this door... and you will be shocked and amazed.

As for the mall itself, avoid it. Never ever go after dark.

I drove by this mall today, and it was DEMOLISHED! I wonder if it's just getting a new look, because the movies are still open, but it's about time they get a new look!
