미첼 H. 카츠(Mitchell H. Katz, 1960년 출생, 미치 카츠라고도 알려져 있음)는 미국 최대의 공공 의료 시스템인 NYC Health + Hospitals의 CEO이다.

조기생활과 교육

캣츠는 뉴욕 브루클린에서 세 아이들 중 막내로 자랐다.[3]그의 남매는 모두 발달장애가 있다.[3]

캣츠는 예일대에서 심리학 학사 학위를 받았고 하버드 의대에서 의학 학위를 받았다.[4][5]1989년 샌프란시스코 캘리포니아 대학에서 내과 레지던트를 마쳤다.[5]

경력

그의 거주 후, Katz는 샌프란시스코에 남아있었다.1991년 샌프란시스코 공중보건부(SFDPH)에 입사해 에이즈 연구실장 및 국장, 응급의료서비스청장, 보건안전부장을 역임했다.[6]

1997년부터 2010년까지, Katz는 샌프란시스코 공중보건부의 보건보건 담당 국장을 역임했고, 그곳에서 미국 최초의 시립 보편적 건강관리 시스템인 Healthy San Francisco 프로그램을 시행했다.[7][8]

캣츠는 재임 기간 샌프란시스코 캘리포니아 대학에서 의학, 역학, 생물통계학 교수로 재직하면서 샌프란시스코 종합병원의 포지티브 헬스케어 프랙티스([9]Positive Healthcare Practice)에서 외래환자 실습을 운영하기도 했다.

2010년, 카츠는 LA 카운티 최고 경영자 윌리엄 T 후지오카에 의해 LA 카운티 보건부를 이끌도록 영입되었다.[10]

2012년, Katz는 의료 분야에 기여한 공로로 National Center for Healthcare Leadership's Gail L. Warden Leadership Excellence Award를 수상하였다.[11]

2015년 11월 24일 로스앤젤레스 카운티 감독위원회는 LA 카운티 보건국의 국장으로 캣츠를 임명했다.[12][13]

Mitchell Katz는 과학 저널인 JAMA 내과의 부편집장이다.[14]

사생활

캣츠와 그의 파트너인 랍비 이겔 구린-말루스는 맥스웰과 록시라는 두 아이를 두고 있다.[15][16]맥스웰과 록시는 베트남의 고아원에서 입양되었다.[8]
