My collection
Record my collection
Log in, then simply search the database for the sets you own (for example, by theme, set name, or set number). When you've found them you'll find checkboxes labelled 'I Own' and 'I want' in set listings and also on the side of set details pages.
Share my owned and wanted sets and minifig lists
Your collection is private until you enable it to be shared. To do that:
- Log in, then click on your name at the top right of the page
- Click on Edit my profile in the menu
- Scroll down, check the box under Let other members contact you?, then press Save
Then, click on the big blue My Sets link at the top of the page. At the top of each grey box you'll see a SHARE link. Click on one to load the appropriate page and note its URL. This is the URL to share with others.
Indicate I have minifigs missing in my sets
If your dog has eaten the minifigs in your sets or you've simply lost them you can prevent them from appearing in your minifig collection.
- Log in, then click on your name at the top right of the page
- Click on Collection checkboxes in the menu
- Enter 'Minifigs lost' or something next to the blue box, tick the checkbox next to it , then press Save.
Now, when you view set listings you'll see a 'Minifigs lost' checkbox with the usual 'Owned' and 'Wanted' ones. Tick it as appropriate.
Add notes to a set, minifig or part
Click on the 'Click to add note' text in the item list, or find the item you want to add a note to, go to its details page, for example, this one, then scroll down to see the notes box in the side bar.
Record more information about my collection
If the owned, wanted and the additional flags do not provide enough flexibility for you to record all that you want to about your collection you can enable the Advanced Collection Manager.
When you've done so, 'ACM' links will be shown near the 'Owned' checkboxes to enable you to view and record additional information.
View the minifigs I own loose
Simply go the Minifigs page, then in the My collection drop-down list, select 'Owned loose'.
Add more flags to help organise my collection
If you want to indicate you own certain sets MISB, or they are in your kids' collection or something like that you can do so using additional collection flags. To enable them:
- Log in, then click on your name at the top right of the page
- Click on Collection checkboxes in the menu
- Enter text next to those you want to use. It can be anything: 'MISB', 'Little Johnny's collection' or whatever.
- Press Save.
Now, when you browse sets you'll see additional checkboxes along with the usual 'Owned' and 'Wanted' ones.
Make a list of the sets I have to trade
Here's one way to do it:
- Set up an additional flag and name it 'Trade'. See the section 'Add more flags to help organise my collection' on this page to find out how.
- Find the sets you want to trade then tick the 'Trade' box.
- Browse sets then in the 'My Collection' drop-down list select 'Trade'. This will show all sets you've flagged.
- Make a note of the page URL, then append /runas-[yourname] so it looks something like http://brickset.com/sets/mycollection-Flag1/runas-huw.
- Share this link with others so they know what you have to trade.
See what parts I own
Brickset can indicate parts that you own when viewing parts lists and inventories. To enable this feature:
- Log in, then click on your name at the top right of the page
- Click on General site preferences in the menu
- Scroll down and check the 'Enable parts collection functionality' under Miscellaneous options
Now, when viewing parts lists you'll see a green box under parts you own showing the quantity you own. Note that this data is only as good as LEGO's published inventories, which are not always accurate.
See what sets I can make from my parts, using Rebrickable.com
Rebrickable is a site that tells you which sets you can build from the parts you already own, and also how many parts you need to build a particular set. To send your collection to Rebrickable and keep it in sync automatically:

Export my collection for backup purposes
Click on the big blue My Sets link at the top of the page. At the top of each grey box you'll see a EXPORT link. Hover over one and you'll be presented with different export formats. CSV is a good choice; it can be imported easily into spreadsheets or other databases.
Correct problems with my minifig list
If your minifigs are not showing correctly, or those from sets you've added recently are not being added, they should be next time you log in: that's when your minifig collection is recompiled.
Note that we are reliant on BrickLink for minifig information so it's possible that data for new sets isn't available there yet. Don't worry, it will be eventually.

Missing data
Submit a photo of a set missing from the database
We are always on the lookout for images for sets we don't have pictures for and welcome your contribution. If you have some you'd like to send us, please let us know via the contact form and we'll let you know where to send them.
You can find out if you own sets that we need pictures for by running these queries: Sets you own without an image and Sets you own that need a better image>.
Add sets, or change the data in the database
To ensure the integrity and accuracy of the database we don't allow direct editing of the information in it but we do welcome being informed of errors and omissions. Please get in touch via via the contact form and one of the data administrators will make the necessary amendments but please read what's in and out of scope for inclusion before doing so.
Tell you that minifig information for new sets is missing
We are reliant on BrickLink for minifig information so it's possible that data for new sets isn't available there yet. Don't worry, it will be eventually.
Inform you about sets missing from the Amazon listings
Send DrDave an email with the details of what's missing and he'll add them.
Advanced queries
Perform advanced queries on the database
The Advanced Query Builder provides a means to query the database in ways that are not possible using the browsing menus. It enables TSQL SELECT statements to be constructed via a GUI. An explanation of the basics of TSQL is beyond the scope of this help page but you'll find a good tutorial at W3Schools. Once you are familiar with SELECT statements using the builder should be self-explanatory.
Queries can be tested and saved to to be executed later.
Share the list generated by a query
If you use collection fields in your query they will relate to the user who is running the query's collection rather than yours. To refer to yours when sharing your query with others, add /runas-[yourname] (e.g. /runas-huw) to the end of the URL.

Make a list of sets
If you want to compile a list of otherwise unrelated sets you can create a BrickList.
It's really simple to do: After giving your list a name and description, you can select sets to add to it, together with a note as to why it's in the list. When your list is complete you can publish it so others can see it.
See this tutorial for step-by-step instructions.
See lists of sets designed by specific LEGO set designers
Several LEGO designers maintain BrickLists of the sets they've worked on. We keep a list of them here.
