Rikiya Koyama (Japanese: 小山力也 Koyama Rikiya) is a Japanese voice actor for Pokémon the Series.
Biography
Koyama was born on December 18, 1963, in Kyoto, Japan. In 1986, he graduated from Ritsumeikan University, and then entered Toho Gakuen College, where he majored in drama. After graduating from Toho Gakuen, Koyama joined the Haiyuza Theatre Company, a Tokyo-based theatre company, in 1988. During his time there, Koyama became publicly noticed for his performances in several plays. He eventually started getting roles in Japanese TV shows and anime. In the Pokémon animated series, Koyama initially voiced characters of the day during Pokémon the Series: The Beginning and Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl. He then voiced Kagetomo, a recurring character in Pokémon the Series: XY. In addition, he voiced Giovanni, the Team Rocket leader; and Archie, the Team Aqua leader; they appeared in Pokémon Origins and Pokémon Generations, respectively.
