History
Nurse Joy and her Wigglytuff
Unlike the Nurse Joys of previous regions, the Nurse Joys of the Kalos region use Wigglytuff to help them around the Pokémon Center. They wear aprons and a hat with a Poké Ball symbol on it. According to the Nurse Joy of The Clumsy Crier Quiets the Chaos!, an old tale tells of a mass outbreak of rampaging Flygon happening long ago in the Kalos region. A single Wigglytuff stood up and calmed the Flygon all by itself. Afterwards it healed all the Pokémon hurt by the rampage. Because of this, Wigglytuff were henceforth used as Nurse Joy's helpers in Kalos.
Wigglytuff first appeared in A Battle of Aerial Mobility!, where it helped Ash register for the Kalos League and gave him his new Badge case. In A Shockingly Cheeky Friendship!, a Nurse Joy and her Wigglytuff traveling near Santalune City approached Serena to make sure she was not hurt after being attacked by a Vespiquen. In A Pokévision of Things to Come!, a Wigglytuff was featured with a Nurse Joy in a Pokévision video. This video was fairly popular, as it had become one of the top 10 Pokévision videos.
In The Clumsy Crier Quiets the Chaos!, a Wigglytuff lived up to the tale of how the Wigglytuff species came to be the helpers of Nurse Joys in Kalos. Although this particular Wigglytuff had just started working at a Pokémon Center and was initially clumsy, it acted very bravely when a Salamence rampaged through the nearby area. It first protected its Nurse Joy from the Salamence's Flamethrower, and then managed to calm the Salamence with Heal Pulse.
A Wigglytuff appeared in a fantasy in For Sure! 'Cause Sprigatito's with Me!.
Personality and characteristics
Wigglytuff has been shown to be an expert medical assistant to Nurse Joy. Its knowledge of Heal Pulse comes in handy when it must calm down a rampaging Pokémon or heal a tired one. It shares a strong bond with its trainer and, if need be, will readily fight for its trainer's safety.
