Hidden cats

[edit]

<moved from User talk: Docu>

Hello. What was the rationale for this? It's not clear from the edit summary (or maybe I am just being dense). Was there a discussion? Cheers, --Skeezix1000 (talk) 20:53, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There was some discussion here. Docu  at 20:59, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, but that's for People by name, isn't it? --Skeezix1000 (talk) 21:08, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The reasoning would be the same.  Docu  at 21:14, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure that the categories are the same. --Skeezix1000 (talk) 22:13, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Both provide basic indexes on categories for persons.  Docu  at 05:28, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is no reason why this should be hidden. Now I can't see persons birth data. "People by name" is somthing compleatly different.--Avron (talk) 16:48, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Change reversed, as per discussion at Commons:Village pump#Birthcat and Dathcat are hidden now. Does it make sense?. --Skeezix1000 (talk) 18:37, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That discussion is now archived at Commons:Village_pump/Archive/2010/11#Birthcat_and_Deathcat_are_hidden_now._Does_it_make_sense.3F. There seem to have been some confusion as most participants thought that the change actually hid the categories. This is an erroneous assumption. --  Docu  at 05:12, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
