Overview
[edit]AIR Media-Tech (Agency of Internet Rights) is a digital media company focused on content management and creator monetization. It was founded in 2010 by Serhiy Bielousov and Stepan Mykhailov in Kyiv, Ukraine. Currently the company operates in more than 40 countries.[1]. AIR Media-Tech is headquartered in Toronto, Canada, with additional offices in Ukraine, Canada, the UAE, and the European Union. AIR Media-Tech employs approximately 250 people[2]
History
[edit]The company was founded as a local initiative in Kyiv. In 2011, AIR Media-Tech became a certified YouTube partner[3], marking its entry into the broader ecosystem of creator support. Over time, the company diversified its operations to include partnerships with other platforms, such as TikTok and Google.
In 2022, AIR Media-Tech acquired ScaleLab[4], a media network based in California[5], to expand its presence in North America, Latin America, and the Middle East. The acquisition was funded internally and facilitated by BDO Corporate Finance Ukraine.
Operations
[edit]AIR Media-Tech provides tools and services for content creators. The company’s services are categorized[6] into the areas such as channel optimization, intellectual property protection, financial management, content localization[7], and audience growth. Its operations are structured into several departments, including a network team that works directly with creators, as well as departments for marketing, sales, global development, and administrative support.
AIR Media-Tech’s business model for creators is divided into two approaches: individual tools used separately and a revenue-sharing model offering broader services in exchange for a percentage of earnings.
Partnerships and Acquisitions
[edit]- ScaleLab[8] (2022): A media network acquisition aimed at broadening AIR’s reach in key regions.
- Vidby[9] (2022): A partnership with an AI-based translation service.
- Gyre[10] (2022): Collaboration with a platform[11] enabling continuous streaming of pre-recorded videos.
Certifications
[edit]- YouTube Certified Partner (since 2011)
- Google Partner (since 2020)
- TikTok (since 2019)
- Recommended vendor for content translation and localization[12](2022)
Social Initiatives
[edit]In 2023, the company launched the "Brave Voices for Ukraine"[13] project to support content creation focused on Ukraine's situation[14]. The project is carried out in collaboration with UNITED24 Media.
