Elijah Pierick is an American politician serving in the Hawaii House of Representatives for the 39th district encompassing Royal Kunia, Village Park, Honouliuli, and Hoopili. He won the seat in the 2022 election against Democrat opponent Corey Rosenlee. Pierick currently serves on the Tourism, Economic Development, and Consumer Protection & Commerce committees.

Early life and education

Pierick was raised in Ewa, Hawaii. He attended Pacific Rim Christian University where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Bible & Christian Ministry in 2019 and Master of Arts, Christian Studies, and Master of Divinity in 2020. In 2022 Pierick received his Doctor of Ministry with a concentration in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University.[2]

Community involvement

Pierick strongly believes in community service and involvement, volunteering in numerous facets of his own community.

He served as a Sunday School Teacher, Soccer Camp Coach, VBS Crew & Theatre Leader, and Interim Religious Education Director at Pearl Harbor Memorial Chapel.

At Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Memorial Chapel Pierick has held the roles of AWANA Crew & Camp Leader, Short Term International Mission Trip Member & Leader to the Philippines, Service Setup Assistant & Usher, President of the Protestant Council, and Co-Lead Pastor of the Airmen Sailor Worship Service.

While attending Pacific Rim Christian University he was a chapel leader, President of the Greek Language Honor Society, and chaplain with the Student Action Leadership Team (SALT).

Pierick was Assistant Director of Field Day Activities for the Military Home Educators' Network of Hawaii and organizer of the Back to School Backpack Drive for the kids of Papakolea, equipping many students with supplies to prepare them for the coming school year.

He has volunteered at the Kapolei Juvenile Detention Facility and been a mentor with Hawaii Youth Challenge Academy.

Pierick has served as Assistant to the Denominations' District Supervisor for Foursquare, and was the Assisting Pastor at Encounter Church, and Teaching Pastor at The Floor Church, respectively.

He currently serves as a Congressional Liaison with Christians United for Israel and as Chair of the Legislative Round Table for the Hawaii Republican Party.

Pierick has been a referee for youth and adult flag football and soccer and Assistant Student Life Coordinator at Pacific Rim Christian University.

Pierick presently serves as a Chaplain-Spiritual Coordinator at Bristol Hospice.

Teaching

Pierick was adjunct faculty at Bible Institute of Hawaii from 2021 to 2022 and King's School of Ministry in Kahului, Maui in 2022. He is currently adjunct faculty at Pacific Rim Christian University.

Military service

From 2019 to 2023, Pierick served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, having completed training at Maxwell Air Force Base.

Publications

In 2021 Pierick coauthored "The Warrior Shepherd: Exploring the Freedom, History, and Ethics of the USAF Chaplain".
