Girls Like Girls is an upcoming film directed by Hayley Kiyoko, adapted from her 2023 book, titled after her 2015 song.
Production

[edit]On May 30, 2023, Kiyoko released her first novel, Girls Like Girls, "a coming-of-age romance based on her breakthrough hit song and viral video" for her 2015 single "Girls Like Girls". She directed the video with directed with Austin S. Winchell.[1] In May 2022, she discussed a desire to turn the story of the song into a feature length film.[2] The film adaptation is written by Kiyoko and Stefania Scott. It is produced by Focus Features.[3]
Principal photography took place in Kelowna in British Columbia, Canada in July 2024.[4]
Release
