It governed a jurisdiction spanning 605 km2 (234 sq mi), which was further divided into six zones: Rohini, Civil Lines, Karol Bagh, City-SP, Keshav Puram and Narela. Comprising 104 Wards, it catered to a population of almost 6,200,000 (62 lakhs) in Delhi[1]
Before its dissolution, it was one of five local bodies in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, alongside the East Delhi Municipal Corporation, South Delhi Municipal Corporation, New Delhi Municipal Council, and the Delhi Cantonment Board.
On May 22, 2022, the three former municipal corporations—North Delhi, South Delhi, and East Delhi—were reunified into the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.[2]
