This page was proposed for deletion by an editor on 21 December 2016 with the comment: Not much here about the man including an ambiguous date of birth. Suggest merge to Umami Burger which is what he's notable for anyway. It was contested by Bagumba (talk · contribs) on 2016-12-21 with the comment: Cited sources demonstrate that subject meets WP:GNG. WP:NOEFFORT is not reason to delete. |

Claudia Cummings
[edit]It appears the victim of the squatting incident was Claudia Cummings (Draft:Claudia Cummings). She sang background vocals for Jimmy Buffet, among other things. She is related to Johnny Ramone (real name John William Cummings) of the Ramones. She was in a 6 year relationship with Senator Ted Kennedy. She apparently committed suicide a few weeks after Fleichman left the house.[1] Fleischman as of this date has voiced no remorse or apology for the squatting incident. -- GreenC 18:47, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
- Aside from whether that's a reliable source about a death, there needs to be reliable sources that link this specific person to him (WP:FRANKENSTEIN). —Bagumba (talk) 01:28, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- [2]. "Claudia lived a full life as a singer, song writer, producer and actress. A member of the Coral Reef band along side Jimmy Buffet 1991-1997. Appeared in several movies and talk shows. I had the Privilege of getting to know Claudia during her squatter removal. She was a very sweet lady and will be missed." The proceeding was written by Flash Shelton, who is the same reported in Fox News and LA Times. This source is self-published, but because it concerns reporting about their own activity in an event that discussed in the article, it falls under WP:SOCIALMEDIA: "Self-published and questionable sources may be used as sources of information about themselves, usually in articles about themselves or their activities". Nevertheless, I would like to wait and see how this story develops with better sources before adding it to the article. -- GreenC 04:31, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Agree in waiting for reliable sources. Shelton isn't independent, without getting into whether he's deemed a reliable expert on her life. I'd also expect Fleischman to be mentioned with published stories about her death. Otherwise, it comes off as WP:OR and WP:UNDUE hinting that he allegedly caused a death. —Bagumba (talk) 05:30, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Fleischman did not "cause" her death, that we know of. All we know is he was involved in a squatting incident, a few weeks before she committed suicide. She also reported that she had brain damage in one of the Shelton videos. That also did not cause her death, that we know of. There is more to the story, thus need to wait for more sources. We'll never know the Truth of what lead her to this end, but we might find sources that can be reported about it. BTW WP:SOCIALMEDIA doesn't require independence indeed assumes dependence. It also doesn't address expert because Shelton is already an expert about his own life experiences. It would be like announcing the death of a friend on Twitter. -- GreenC 06:57, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- It might be one thing to use Shelton on her bio, if it existed. It's another matter to use his account as a rationale for including her death on Fleischman's bio. An independent source would be a better gauge if it's at all relevant for Fleischman. We want to be wary of WP:NOTDIARY, especially if it doesn't seem to directly involve him. Anyways, we're spending too much time on hypotheticals. Agree on waiting for sources, and revisit as needed. Thanks. —Bagumba (talk) 07:29, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
