Captions not in dialogue?

[edit]

I am watching the movie on my Movies Anywhere account. At 04:12, the scene where "Betsy" is telling her friend goodbye, in addition to her saying "Goodbye, Marilyn," the captions add this: "If that's Monroe, she'll be a bigger star at Fox than Shirley ever was." To be clear, the line about Marilyn Monroe is solely in captions, not anything actually audible.

Anyone know what on Earth is going on here? Almost as if Mystery Science Theater 3000 was in charge of captioning. Crazy stuff. 68.52.185.132 (talk) 23:10, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
