Edits made which remove or otherwise change any material placed by clearly established consensus, without first obtaining consensus to do so, may be treated in the same manner as clear vandalism.
Clear vandalism of any origin may be reverted without restriction.
Reverts of edits made by anonymous (IP) editors that are not vandalism are exempt from the 1RR but are subject to the usual rules on edit warring. If you are in doubt, contact an administrator for assistance.

Long name

It was named such long before the current dispute. It is not a novel sentiment. Syria never accepted the ceding of Antakiya, Iskanderoun, etc, but never really acted against it either, being too weak compared to Turkey. FunkMonk (talk) 03:19, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ideology

The ideology is claimed to be Syrian nationalism and Marxism by all sources. Saysersslll is inventing stuff loosely based on a single POV source, and reverting more than once[1][2], in addition to witing lame stuff such as "idiot" in his edit summaries. if Josh landis puts an article up on his site then he presumably thinks it is worthy of attention and the article says "However, beneath this image of Syrian nationalism and leftist ideology lies a more narrow sectarian emphasis on defending the Alawite and Twelver Shi’a communities." - that is , I believe, the kind of sentence that invites the thought 'a nod is good as a wink to a blind horse' - and indicates something rather essential to an understanding of this movements ideology and motivations. so saying 'The ideology is claimed to be Syrian nationalism and Marxism by all sources' - is stretching it - here is a source, endorsed one presumes to some degree by josh Landis , that claims the ideology is significantly inflected with sectarian accents - perhaps I am giving too much prominence to this strain in the source - but it is there ,funkmoth - oh dear, we neither of us can spell the others name - Richard Dimbleby could hardly bear to say Malcolm Muggeridge's name he so despised him- so this difficulty has a tradition, funkmot.
