Hi Mattgirling, it looks like you created the articles Ichagak and Ichagaki simultaneously a few years ago. Someone has since tagged them for merging, which seems sensible, since they appear to be the same place. It looks like the latter is the actual name, based on volume of Google hits, but I just thought I'd check in with you to verify that—and since you made both articles at the same time, maybe that was intentional and they should remain separate. I noticed that you deleted one. Another editor came along and re-created them. If you could assist in making sure that they continue to redirect to the main article for now. David Frost

I understand that the template is not for notifying of death, it is for notifying readers that content is likely to change quickly. As there was no content in the body of the article referring to his death, and a newsflash had just been issued by the BBC, I pre-emptively added the tag. As it happens, the content that followed was rapidly changed, so the tag was probably necessary. I worked from some intuition in adding the tag; the only two pieces of information on the article about the death were already conflicting, and neither sourced. If I had more time and resources (I was working from an iOS device on a limited wireless hotspot), I would have tried to extend it myself, but instead, I added the tag to make it easier for the doubtless surge of readers and editors arriving. I understand that this may not have appeared necessary at the time I added it, and your actions would normally be most suitable, but I'd appreciate a little more thought is taken before deleting a tag outright without first questioning why it was put there. Hi! I don't think that lack of content is a justification for the template, but I appreciate what you're saying about editing from a mobile device and that actually editing the article proper wouldn't really have been feasible. However, the RD template is certainly overused (per the template's documentation; it implies that readers should assume content may change at any time, regardless of a template), and I think at that time it was unnecessary in the Frost article. It's active now (I know know exactly when it was reinstated), but it's certainly valid now as we've had a high rate of edits yesterday and today (c. 300)—though I'd imagine editing levels will drop slowly now until there's more information (perhaps around the time of the funeral). I certainly did question why the template was there, but I drew the conclusion that it was unnecessary at the time. Thanks for messaging me—I suppose these templates are highly subjective, and one editors definition of "high level of editing" isn't the same as another's. I'll certainly be more questioning about removing these templates in the future, but in return I'd as for your edit summary (in such circumstances) to be clearer—perhaps with a brief justification? I don't know what the editing interface is like on mobile devices, so I don't know if that's awkward too! Thanks again, matt (talk) 09:42, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

I'll certainly work towards improving my edit summary; it was only when you mentioned it there that I actually read it back and realised how stupid it was! I tend towards using the site when editing on mobile rather than the app, as I prefer the options it gives me, so it's not that difficult to write an edit summary; I'll endeavour to ensure they're better in the future. Article Feedback Tool update

Hey Mattgirling. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.

We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.

Hi! The closest key is D♯ minor (which is the same as E♭ minor). It doesn't sound exactly in that key—there's a number of reasons why that could be, including using a standard other than A440 for tuning, or sample rate conversion or playback speed introducing a subtle pitch shift.
