Speedy deletion nomination of DR class

Proposed deletion of AL class

The article AL class has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I cannot find any reliable sources about this class of locomotives. However there is a link from another page EL Class, presumably added by the author of this page.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. re ALCO DL531

Thank you for contributing this article. However, it's not very clear what the article is about. I gather it's some kind of train engine, but this isn't made clear.

The article starts out:

More than 200 example were built by AE Goodwin under licence...

It should start out something like this:

The ALCO DL531 is model of diesel locomotive manufactured under license by the A. E. Goodwin Company...

See what I'm saying?

I cleaned it up some, take a look at it now. This is more like the typical format of a Wikipedia article. The article still needs references. Would it be possible for you to provide some?

Sorry about the string of deletion notices you are getting above. As far as I know, all or some of those articles are about notable entities. But the articles need to be written so that a reader knows right away what it is about. If not, the tendency here is sometimes to delete the article in the hopes that a better one can be started from scratch later.

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
