Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Fuller.
Hi Megan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started watching cooking shows as small child. I loved to watch “the frugal gourmet” on PBS
I started bussing tables at a small cafe when I was 12. Got my first official job at 16 working for Applebee’s. After 8 years with that company I left as my family relocated with the military. I was a stay at home mom for 10 years. All that time I was cooking for friends and did all the birthday cakes for my friends kids
I was diagnosed with celiac disease at 29, while living in Hawaii
Then when we moved back to Colorado Springs, i started cooking for friends. Then word spread I could make certain hard to find things like gluten free soft pretzels
Once the word got out, I was busy! With my cottage food license I was able to pump out a lot of baked goods and I cooked myself right out of my kitchen. When I found the location that I’m in l, I had a near cult following.
I am very held
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was tricky to develop some of my recipes, and maybe it WAS difficult, but I didn’t really notice. I was having so much fun along the way.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a dedicated gluten free restaurant and bakery that features take and bake items. There is no other business like this.
Besides the take and bake, which is pretty “revolutionary” ( to quote a visitor who planned their vacation to come see me from San Francisco), I care. I keep files and notes of people’s allergies to keep them safe.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I listen to audiobooks via overdrive while I work. They help me pass the time when I’m alone in the kitchen
Facebook is where I am able to do all my advertising
