3-story commerial building completed in 1927. Designed by Ferdinand Savignano, it has a sparse, simple facade. The video store here was once 8th Street Playhouse, billed as the "first 100 percent cinema" ever.

The basement level is occupied by Electric Lady Studios, a recording studio originally built by Jimi Hendrix and designed by John Storyk in 1970. A variety of artists have recorded music there, including Curtis Mayfield, Carly Simon, Peter Frampton, David Bowie, Christina Aguilera, Bad Religion, Stevie Wonder, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, John Lennon, Billy Joel, The Clash, Frank Zappa, The Rolling Stones, Guns N' Roses (Chinese Democracy Sessions), Patti Smith, KISS, Van Halen, Weezer, Interpol, Ryan Adams, Steve Earle, Al Green, the Dave Matthews Band, Monster Magnet, Deee Lite, Rancid, D'Angelo and Common (as well as the majority of the Soulquarians).
