This fossil leaf specimen stems from the Late Cretaceous Wepo Formation of the Mesaverde Group exposed on Black Mesa basin on the Navajo Nation of northeastern Arizona. This leaf was probably one of the flowering plants (angiosperms) common in the area of the former Western Interior Seaway.
